Hey ladies... just quickly jumping on to tell you my labor
Baby William came yesterday, 11/18 at 1:38pm. It was a LONG HARD road and there were complications along the way. Things certainly didnt go as planned but i kind of had a feeling that was going to be the case only shortly after we arrived.
My water broke Tues night at 7pm but i wasnt having any contractions. We finally decided to go to hospital around 11:45. We stopped at a diner on the way since i still felt fine and i knew to eat bc i knew they wouldnt feed me at all. Nurse said that was a REALLY smart decision
Anyway, go to L&D around 1am. I was only 1cm. Contractions came on HARD prob around 2ish and they were INTENSE and lasting 1 min to 1 min and half and were about every 4-6 mins. Then they were every 2-3. They hurt SOOOOO bad it was UNREAL. I knew i had to be very dialated that point. The nurses CLEARLY heard my moans and sent dr to exam me. Are you ready..... I was STILL only 1cm. They said i had HOURS of this to go. I wanted to DIE. The pain was HORRIBLE and i was getting NO relief bc they came on so quickly, so strongly. So me, the NO PAIN MEDICATION woman, actually agreed to have a small dose of Stadol bc i wasnt allowed and epi and the contractions were giving me no room for recovery. Stadol was NICE. I was HIGH AS A KITE BUT.... after about 1 hr and half, contractions came SLAMMING back and HARD. They agreed to get me an epi. I was ALL about it at this point. It was prob 8am and i had been in pain since 2 and there was NO end in sight.
Epi was SWEET and i was so happy. I was even able to drift off. Finally checked again around noon and i was only.... 3cm. I wasnt dialating AT ALL. SO they did some pitocin and next thing i know, 4-5 docs are running into the room. Apparently, babys heartrate went down FAST. He wasnt reacting well to the pitiocin at all. It was now approaching 17-18 hrs since my water broke and they said i had to have a c-section bc baby was in distress and i wasnt dialating. I was TOTALLY ok w. it at this point. I just wanted to know baby was SAFE.
So, they got me prepped and ready in no time. Im not gonna lie, I HATED the c-section. I hated the pulling and the tugging ALOT.... but next thing i knew they pulled him out and said "ITS A BOY". DH and i LOST IT!! They showed him to us quickly and sent him to NICU bc his breathing wasnt good. Not to mention i also have a ruptured placenta and they couldnt bank my cord blood
 I LITERALLY fell asleep on the OR table for the entire hour they stitched me up. I was EXHAUSTED and SPENT.
I spent 2 hrs in recovery while DH brought our parents to see Will in NICU. I finally got to see him by 9:00 that night and OMG, i was IN LOVE. He is a PEACH and so sweet and i love the noises he makes and everything about him.
Im still in hospital and c-section recovery SUXXXX. Plus Im trying to BF and he is latching well but im still so not used to it. Im very overwhelmed and i said to DH, if loving him was the only job i had to do right now, i would be an expert.
ANyway, just wanted to share bc many of you FMed me and wrote on my FB etc etc. I hope i didnt scare anyone w/ my story But spoken like a true BTDT, you can NOT plan anything apparently

Your Ds is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!!! WHat a perfect little face!
It sounds like you had such a rough ordeal  I am so sorry! Sending you  for a fast recovery.
As a BTDT mommy I agree - you really can't plan for what will happen - you have to just trust your OB and go with the flow. I also planned to go without the epi and was thank god able to do so HOWEVER, I never imagined just how difficult and painful it would be. THis time around, I am planning again but now, more open to the possibility of whatever happens is in god's hands!
CONGRATS TO YOU AND YOUR DH!!!!! Hope you have a speedy recovery!

MIchelle he is absolutley gorgeous and I'm so happy for you and your family. C section recovery is not easy, take it slow and have your hubby pass you the baby and so on. As for your labor story...it sounds a lot like someone I know (mine!!!) YOu can't plan anything and most importantly you have a beautiful and HEALTHY baby boy. CAn't wait to see more pictures of that gorgeous little man xoxoxox

Congrats a Gazillion times over. He is absolutely beautiful. And you did exactly what you needed to and what you worked so hard to prepare for...you trusted your body and you folllowed it's lead. That's the best any of us can do. Now you have this adorable little beauty to show for it. Enjoy him and Get some rest. I'm happy that you are a Mommy!

Hey Michele! CONGRATS!!!!  I'm sorry you didn't get to have the birth you wanted but you did an amazing job and got your little boy here happy and healthy!! That is all that matters. I KNOW how painful contractions are and you were a trooper holding out for that long.
Congrats again and I hope you have a speedy recovery. Enjoy him!!!!

What a little munchkin!!! He's so cute! Many congratulations to you and DH! I'm so sorry your labor and delivery experience was so rough and not want you had in mind. And yes, I am now terrified!!! I hope your C-section recovery goes quickly and you can get on to truly enjoy your son!

Michele he is beautiful! I am sorry your birth did not go as planned, but I know that you can be confident that you made the best decisions for you and your son, and look how gorgeous and perfect and healthy he is

Michelle, you son is absolutely adorable!!!!! I am sorry your labor didn't go as planned but in the end you still have your little guy! I had similar (not as long of a labor) but my contractions were so intense & I literally stopped 6cm (which is what I went to the hospital at). In the end, the C-section was not bad at all!
