He wasn't there, how does he know she wasn't drunk...IMO He's a dumbarse. He also said his wife had diabetes and she didn't, medical testing proved that. He just doesn't want to face the fact that his wife was an irresponsible derelict that CHOSE to drink and do drugs, then intentionally put her own daughter, and neices/nephews in danger, which ultimately cost them all their lives.
If this idiot thinks that exhuming his wife's body will clear her name, after 2 sets of toxicology (the 1st autopsy and subsequent testing that he requested) both proved that she was triple the legal limit of alcohol and had active marajuana in her system...He's got another thing coming.

Well Actually YES I have. Thank you. Im saying freaking medical tests have been done. The SCIENCE does not lie. the chick was drunk and HIGH with her kids in the car. she was iresponsible and now after the fact they are REACHING for anything to make her NOT look like the POS she is.
I never said she was not DRUNK, she very may well have been because she thought what was a water bottle was in fact a bottle of vodka. as for the pot i am not sure, but the husband did say they used it socially, so if there was a roach in the car she may have picked up, she may have smoked ciggies. look i am not here to argue that what happened was not right, IT WAS HORRIBLE WRONG and sad. BUT it is VERY POSSIBLE that is what happened.
With that kind of reachong one would be able to touch the sun.
Until you've experienced the horror that can result from a TIA I'd be careful. YOU (the collective you) may think that Janet is grasping for straws - but IF Diane Schuler experienced a TIA (and NO autopsy will ever be able to conclude definitivly one way or the other because it is transient and often doesn't do enough damage to show the effect when death occurs so soon thereafter) the suggestion that she mistook a bottle of vodka for water is not only plausible it is highly likely given the amount of undigested vodka in her stomach. (and no, that doesn't explain the pot).
As for Dominick Barbera - he's a glory hound - always has been always will be. We shouldn't judge Daniel Schuler based on his attorney.

I'd love to see how they definately ruled out TIA when a typical autopsy can't.

There is no question that Janet has experienced this first hand.
Without going into details, one of my client got a stroke before the treatment. I was "lucky" enough to recognize the symptoms after I HARRASSED her with questions. She was not making any sense. Could barely talk. She did want not 911. I begged her DH who was having a massage in another room to get her to the hospital. The next day, the hospital and DH called. It was a stroke and luckily it got caught on time.
That being said. I think it's the reach for reasons that gets me in this case.
First it's the tooth decay and the medicine, then it's diabete she does not have. I really feels like it's "what can it be next".

I agree, it's like they're not making any sense themselves with all these crazy excuses coming out of nowhere.
With all due respect to Janet 
it's really just hard to comprehend how they can as someone else said, make a mockery of the medical testing that is known to be very accurate.
Why all this concern over his wife when he left her to drive 5 children home by herself ??
the way they (hubby & lawyer) speak is not clear, they make vague statements & it's just outrageous that they are saying "that cant be right". science is science. how can they dance around findings like this ?
it's just so sad that all these people were killed....

You know, statements like this truly irk me. Hundreds of death row inmates that were convicted have been freed because of DNA evidence and many people called them killers.
Neither you nor I were in that car that fateful day. We don't know what caused Diane Schuler to drink while driving with those 5 beautiful children in the car, and we'll never ever know. One thing I do know is that Janet's theory is NOT far-fetched and is entirely plausible AND it can never be proven or disproven.

I have to say that the brain is an incredible thing. I only had to experience complete disorientation from sleep deprivation to understand that. When DS was an infant and I was barely sleeping, I fell asleep on the couch with a stuffed animal and woke up completely convinced that it was DS, even picked it up and kissed it. Scared the living crap out of DH!
So I can only imagine what a blod clot or blockage to the blood flow can make you believe.
Whether or not this is what really happened, it is definitely in the realm of possibility and makes me have a more open mind to the whole story.

You truly crack me up.  I won't stoop so low as to call you a moron but I will point out that even the most SUPERFICIAL scan of the previous posts would be enough to realize there was no DEFENSE of anyone attempted here. And your Like anyone cares what someone like you thinks. theory is idiotic from the get-go for two reasons:
I personally DO care what Caz thinks, and surely you must know there's no one "like her" around these parts.
Regarding the situation in general he may be trying to clear his wife's name (partly) but in all honestly this smacks of legal maneuvering common in most tragic cases... If his BIL or the Bastardi family are going to file a civil suit, time is Schuler's best friend right now. Delays, motions and appeals all give time for the media circus to die down. And obviously he doesn't have to PROVE that any medical incident occurred, just that it COULD have happened.
The only "fact" here that we'll EVER know is 8 lives were lost, 5 of them children.

I don't think that (most) posts combating the TIA theory were trying to kick anyone in the throat. I would also hazard a guess that not everyone knows what Janet has gone through and that she lost her husband.
and while yes, a TIA could explain the alcohol issue...it IS reaching a bit further when you look at that in terms of the level of pot also in her system.

I do believe she had an alcohol problem. I have dealt with ME's b/c of my job and they will tell you that someone may be an alcoholic but their organs have not been affected yet, especially if they are young and they are short term alcoholics. I know people who have been involved in the investigation of this case and the husband is changing certain aspects of his story now - when he is sued, he will have to explain his contradictory statements - I feel bad that he is making these statements in public b/c they will come back to haunt him.

Interesting to know...
However, if she had pot and alcohol in her car, it does lead us to believe she did use those things and did use them that weekend, so it does make the TIA seem less likely.

I didnt follow this story in great detail from the start.
what was the reason/symptom that a TIA came up as a possiblity to begin with ?
I "believe" it was because when she spoke to her brother she told him she was disoriented and couldn't see. Not sure of the exact conversation but that was the jist of it.
the whole thing makes me sick....
