How far a drive is the hospital from you?
Hospital I'm considering is a little far from me, I'm a little worried.
But in practicality first baby takes a while, right? And I would have at least an hour after water breaks, right?

I have to travel 45-60 minutes. I moved out of my hometown, but was not ready to change doctors

from my job: 20 mins
from my house upstate: 1.5 hours.
guess where I DONT want my water to break

About 10-15 mins...depending on the lights on 347... that's really a hit or miss... LOL> I can only imagine DH on the way to the hosp. with the lights! LOL

I hate 347, I travel the whole rd from the n state on my way to the hospital and the doctor...I don't know what I was thinking!

We have about a 20-30 minute drive, UNLESS we have to go during evening rush hour. I can easily see it being an hour with traffic. But, I'm hoping I'll be able to keep an eye on the time, and be able to work around it, i.e. leave when contractions are 6-7 minutes apart instead of 5, or something like that.

I timed it with no traffic and it was 30-40 minutes. I ain't gonna lie, when I went into labor, I was stressing out big-time because I felt like we were really far away. I got there in plenty of time though and DS came quick............about 3 hours later.
My SIL delivered at the same hospital and they had to leave during rush hour traffic. I believe my FIL took the shoulder a good part of the way there.
I would not deliver anywhere else though.

In traffic, over an hour. Usually without traffic an hour.
I wasnt ready to switch dr's when we moved 4 years ago and still havent switched. I could deliver closer (at stonybrook) but they tend to save that (at least at my office) for higher risk patients. It's ok because i like St. Catherines alot.

I have a 60 min drive w/o traffic to my hospital. However, I love my doctors and 1st baby supposedly takes longer.
