Nicholas woke up, and couldn't walk - Update
He said his legs hurt and he was walking on his very tippy toes. I thought maybe they were asleep, so I got him ready for school thinking it would subside. It didn't. So I took him to the doctor who said he probably has viral myalgia. He has been sick all week (had a fever, has a cough, runny nose). He ordered some blood work so off to the lab we went.
Before we even got out of the car, Nicholas was hysterical, crying, shaking. An hour and a half later, I finally had to hold him down and have her draw the blood. It was a total nightmare and I've never seen him scream like that in my entire life  Hopefully it all comes back normal. I feel like the poor kid just can't get a break.
Update:
The doctor called and said his blood results came back with abnormal muscle enzymes. So he confirmed he has a virus in his muscles and said if he still can't walk on Monday, to bring him back in. He's in good pretty spirits though. It only hurts when he puts his feet flat or when I touch his legs he said. So as long he is sitting, he is okay. Thanks again for the hugs and prayers and hopefully it passes soon.

oh my god, I feel terrible for him!
I just HATE when they are in pain and screaming like that, you feel so helpless.
I hope he's all better ASAP...

Oh the screaming wasn't from the pain in his legs, it was from him being scared of the needle to draw his blood.
Thanks everyone I have to call the doctor back later on to update him on how Nicholas is doing. I'm not sure about how long for the blood results, I assume 48 hours, but I'll ask him then.
