Re: Bumbo Seat???

My DS liked it. I would place him in it with toys dangling in front of him. He really liked that he could play with the toys and look at what is going on in the room. I also lent it to my nephew, who is 3 months younger than my DS. So it got use that way also.

And a few weeks ago, he found it when I was about to put it away and not he loves to sit in it! His legs have really thinned out as he's gotten taller and so he fits in it again. I loves to sit in it when he's watching TV. And he also finds it fun just getting in and out of it.

ETA: He's 17 months old.

I have something similar to the Bumbo- the Summer Infant 3 Stage Super Seat. My nephew has it and loves it!

Re: Bumbo Seat???

My DS loved it. I found it to helpful with him gaining neck/head control and better posture. I will use the same one for my DD.

I was given one and DS hates it. Used it once for about 2 minutes. Thing is, you just don't know what your child will like or dislike so if you want to give it a try, it doesn't hurt to get it!

Re: Bumbo Seat???

I would not register for it. You have plenty of time for it. You can't use it until they are about 3 months or so when they can keep their head up by themself.

I hardly used mine. I got it used. You could not even tell if it was used. I think a lot of people get very little use out of them. And a few swear by them.

It was a bit useless for me. Glad I did not spend $40 for it.

Re: Bumbo Seat???

We got the Bebe Pod. My nephew loved this so hopefully our little guy will too. If not, I'll pass it off to a friend or sell on Craigs list.

They are great, my advice is borrow one! Don't buy it because you use it only for a really short time!

Now...I've also seen the bebePOD that looks the same. Anyone have that or think one is better?

I believe the leg openings are wider on the bebePOD so it is better for babies with chunky legs.

I had the Bumbo and DD absolutely LOVED it. We used it for several months. She was never a fan of the bouncy seat so this was an alternative to the swing for her.

I didn't have one for the first and won't this time either. Honestly, I don't see the purpose -- just another piece of plastic to fill up your room. You can prop up babies with pillows the same way and babies sit by 6 months, so then it's obsolete -- I just don't think they're worth it.

Re: Bumbo Seat???

I had one for DD and will use it again. She did not like to sit in it for long periods of time at all but it is cute to see her sitting up.
I found that I had to use the tray or she would have been able to get out of it.

Re: Bumbo Seat???

DS is 3 months old and we just started using it. i wouldn't register for it. buy it second hand or borrow one. i was all ready to buy one from a mommy on here and then DH brought one home from a buddy at work. they are NOT worth $40 IMO.

DS is loving it...for now. i'm only using it when i'm cooking and can't play with him. he sits on the kitchen table and watches me. i transfer him from the bouncer, to the bumbo to the booster seat...and back again as he begins to get restless.

don't register for it. definitely a waste. but it IS a good thing to have if you realize your baby could use it. so get it at 3 months and get a different $40 gift that you can actually use

Re: Bumbo Seat???

DD loves her BebePod (wider leg openings but really the same thing). She isn't ready for the exersaucer and gets tired quickly in the jumperoo. This seat is small and light. She loves sitting up and can't stand the bouncy any longer. It's a nice option if you have the room for it! Keep the receipt...if LO doesn't like it then you can return it. You never know what your baby will like and they will tell you.
