Re: Bumbo Seat???
I am getting one-- all of the people I know say their kids loved it.
I think it promotes posture and I think the babies really love to be able to sit up and see everyone.

Re: Bumbo Seat???
I got one for I thought that it might be good for times I do not put her in the high chair or she does not want to sit in her bouney.

Re: Bumbo Seat???
I had one and DD hated sitting in it - I know some people who liked it and others who didn't. If I had to do it again I wouldn't get it again.

Re: Bumbo Seat???
I didn't get one because my BFF had it for her daughter and said she used maybe once. She said it was a total waste. What I didn't like about it is if you look at it the leg openings are pretty tight so if you have a baby with chunky little thighs that Bumbo seat will be one tight fit. I figured when Emerson is sitting up I will be with her and she can lean on me and then like my friend, once she's able to sit up on her own with no problem she can hang out in the Exersaucer which is way more fun than a Bumbo seat anyway.

Re: Bumbo Seat???
I thought it was useless. We bought it along with the tray and used it maybe 5 times. I just gave it to a friend to try with her DS, hopefully with better results.

Re: Bumbo Seat???
Meh.. I have a feeling it is just another thing to take up space in my small house.
I have a swing, exersaucer and bouncer...I think that will be good enough.

Re: Bumbo Seat???
This is one of my favorite gifts to give at a shower! It's one of those extra things that you don't have to have, but everyone wants! I really didn't use my bumbo as much as I thought, but it is perfect for photos! We used it to take our holiday picture when my ds was 6 weeks old and everyone thought he was sitting already! It was adorable! I would def. only use it on the floor and for very short periods of time, but it is sooooo cute!!

Re: Bumbo Seat???
i think they are realy cute but i am not registering for one..
i just refuse to get something that i will only use for a few months and then store it in a basement for the next child...
i just don't want our place to be bombarded with every baby gadget out there..

It helps them sit up on their own.
My DD never used it because her thighs were to big.

Re: Bumbo Seat???
I used it to feed Landon. We haven't set up the high chair yet and it works great for feeding. It is also good for pics. He never just hangs out in it though. Landon is pretty big and it is sung aroun dhis legs, but he still fits (for now)

Re: Bumbo Seat???
We used ours A LOT. DD sat in it from 6 weeks on- she liked being able to sit up and see. She still uses it as a booster seat at our dining room table(I know- you should NOT do that- danger issue but its firmly wedged in the chair).

Re: Bumbo Seat???
My DS loved it and sat in it very well. Now my DD is 5 months old and she hates it. She arches her back and pops herself out of it.
So, I guess it depends on the child.

Re: Bumbo Seat???
I didn't register for it, but am so glad my SIL gave me my nephews. I HIGHLY recommend it.
We used it for some of the first feedings and it was GREAT to have a safe place for DS to sit from time to time. It was in our kitchen and he sat in it when I was cooking. It was great and made life so much easier!

Re: Bumbo Seat???
This is something you can get gently used on craigslist or our very own buy/sell/swap thread for a fraction of what it actually costs. That's what I did!
