Is white furniture too girly?

As most of you know by now, dh and i are having a boy and w have always loved white furniture. Do you think it is too girly for a boys room?

We are going to get boy bedding and do the walls boy colors.. dont you think It is more gender neutral?

Please - honest opinions.

Thanks!

Re: Is white furniture too girly?

My SIL (curliegirl) has white furniture with my nephew and it looks awesome. Once the bedding is there you cant really tell. I would stay away from ornate decorations though

I have an off white furniture for Anthony. It doesn't look girly at all. Check out my album

Re: Is white furniture too girly?

Depends on the lines/style of the furniture. Some of the Pottery barn furniture looks great for a boy, although I don't see it as working once the boy gets older. Only infant and toddler looks ok in white IMO.

Re: Is white furniture too girly?

I don't at all!!! Acutally when we still didn't know what we were having and just went browsing for furniture we went into a Bellini and I initially was only looking at white furniture, well the sales woman laid into me that you can't have white for a boy blah blah blah, I literally told her off and told her she lost my business bc it is a matter of TASTE, not what she deems is male or female....I can see how it can be looked at as feminine, but there are very very modern pieces out right now in white that I can totally see a boy in!!!!!!!

We have white furniture for our son. I dont think it is girly at all!! We didn't find out the sex of the baby, but our crib converts to a toddler bed...and when we convert, I will be doing a navy and white theme...I love that look!!

I think with the boy bedding and room decor it won't look girly.

Re: Is white furniture too girly?

I don't think so at all! You probably wouldn't buy it for a young boy, but for a baby, it is fine.

Re: Is white furniture too girly?

If we have a boy, we plan on doing white furniture - I don't think it's too girly if your bedding and accents are boy-ish.

White is a neutral color!!!! Go for it I say! Im sure the bedding will be blue or your room will have blue accents. White goes with anything!

We have white furniture and didn't find out what we were having the first time or this time. It's for the nursery, and I thought of it as "babyish" not boy or girl.

Re: Is white furniture too girly?

well, my first instinct is to say yes, but if you do the room right, i am sure it would look amazing! i just don't think that white furniture would grow with a little boy into toddlerhood

Re: Is white furniture too girly?

We are getting white furniture and i don't think it is girly at all. It is only girly if it is for an older child, but if you don't plan on using the furniture for the child as he gets older, it is fine.

I love white furniture but I do think it's a little
too girly for a boy.

Re: Is white furniture too girly?

We got white furniture and didnt know what we were having. I never thought for a second that white furniture was only for girls - it's completely neutral in my opinion.

Re: Is white furniture too girly?

I do not!! I loooooove white baby furniture and if it went with the room we are using for the nursery, I so would have gotten it. It think it looks great with "boy" bedding and if I were having a boy, I would have done a nautical theme.
