That is an amazing, heartfelt, poem...
I unfortunately know exactly what you are going through...
I dont get into it much. I joke about it when I do. But I was married to a con man for a very brief period of time. Fortunately we didnt have any children but my kids were effected by him..It wasnt a good thing and I thought my world was over...
Well...
Just when I thought all was over my life turned around..I met the most amazing man...and had an incredible little boy.
Point..Heather make a point...my point is that it might not be tomorrow, or next week, or next month...but some where down the road you'll look back and see why it all turned out the way it did.

Great poem. When I broke up with the sweet talking guy who was full of crap, the chorus of "everybody plays the fool," made me feel better. It was great to know that I was not the only person who ever got duped. I also got the chance to talk to another girl who fell for the same guy years earlier (he had played me against her but we got together and talked it out). In a sense I was lucky because that guy did come grovelling back about a year later and I got the chance to turn him down. He is in his mid 40s now and never had the marriage or family that he always said he wanted. I'm now married to a guy who is not a smooth talker and does not pile on the BS but he is 100% true.
Here is the song:

That is a truly powerful and beautiful poem. Please save it for your daughter when she is grown.
For now you need to replace anger so that your daughter can feel your healing and heal herself.I am truly sorry for your pain. I hope that this man can see what he had and find it within himself to allow his daughter to have love and peace in her life.
