Re: Anyone have a c/s, not regret it at all, and feel fine?

i had DS via c-section, not by choice, but because I wouldn't dilate. WHen I first heard c-section, i did cry and was a little sad/overwhelmed, but I got over that quickly once I saw my baby boy!
Are you my sister or something? Ohh yea, you are
I could have written this word for word. My water broke, they tried to induce me, but, my body just didn't respond to it. I only got to 2CMs in 30 hours. I was in tears when they told me c section, and, I won't lie, I felt like I failed. My mom had us all C Section, My sister had a C Section and I wanted to be the 1st of the family to "Push". I even made DH go to the waiting room and get my mom. I was scared. Like some ladies mentioned..All that anxiety and boom, it was over..Bryan was here and of course, I cried all over again..LOL. 2 Weeks later I felt great. The thought of V-Bac keeps crossing my mind for the next, but, then again, I don't know if I could do it. I may just walk in to the Dr.s office and say "So, what's the date"..LOL

Re: Anyone have a c/s, not regret it at all, and feel fine?
Just recently I felt my first twing of I wonder if I should have tried for a v-birth. But really I loved my c-section. I never had to go through labor, or pushing out a 10lb baby, I never had any of the issues (my friend just went to the ER after she had issues from her delivery of a 6lb baby!) I was up the next day feeling sore but by the time I was home I didnt have much pain. I held my baby within 10 minutes of his birth, BF him with 90 minutes, he was never in NICU for a moment. So my experience was good and I was very lucky.
Honestly I can't imagine doing it any other way.

Re: Anyone have a c/s, not regret it at all, and feel fine?
Nope , I already posted about this on a different thread. mine was planned bc of various reasons,(NOT BC I DIDN'T WANT V BIRTH) and I cherish every second of it, Yes it was the worst pain I have ever experienced for weeks but it was also the happiest day of my life. I had so many scary moments in my last 2 months of pregnancy so if it took to cut me open and get my baby out happy and healthy ,so be it. Yes scar is ugly, but I am proud of it , otherwise I feel fine , I do not feel inadecuate or cheated ,not at all.

Re: Anyone have a c/s, not regret it at all, and feel fine?
I was very disappointed that I didnt get to experience a vaginal birth and all that comes along right after the birth of a baby. BUT..there werent many choices for me and in my situation, I am surprised they made me go so long before actually performing a c section.
My recovery was AWFUL..pushing for so long before the surgery lent to that..but in the end, my beautiful daughter is here, safe and healthy and I am so proud of my scar. In a weird way, it has made me a stronger person.

How could I have any regrets about having a c-section... without it the chances my DS would be here are very slim.... He was breech!
And with DD on the way I'll be having a section again with no regrets even if she is head down.

I had a hard recovery with the c-section but don't even thing I would have done it any other way. Even through the pain of recovery I still cannot imagine delivering vaginally.

No regrets and when the time comes will have a repeat c-section.
I do think about vbac, but when I think about my wonderful exp. with my first c-sect, I just cant see putting myself at risk.

Re: Anyone have a c/s, not regret it at all, and feel fine?
I was devastated when after 24 hours of labor & my water breaking 36 hours b4 & not dilating past 6 they told me it would be best to go for a c/s...I had always envisioned pushing & the whole thing....
Well, my recovery was GREAT & I feel just as good now as I did before, no complications, I was back to working out at 7 weeks after (wish I continued it) & I'd definitely go for another c/s w/ #2. It was a lot easier than I ever thought.

I loved having c-sections. I had zero desire to push a baby out, and was scared to death of it. I had great recoveries and have no regrets.

Re: Anyone have a c/s, not regret it at all, and feel fine?
Thank you Liza for posting this. And thank you ladies for all of your honest answers. Reading everyone's experiences makes me feel a lot better about what DH and I have on our plate at the moment.
Right now I am in contemplation of a c-section because Ed-lie is breech and has been for quite some time now. There is a chance that she still may turn, though my gut tells me she won't. My gut has been right about everything else thus far so I tend to rely on it. DH and I will hold out as long as we can before scheduling anything because we still have time. I never really had a birth plan per se - more like "Whatever happens, happens." Should we schedule a c-section, we wouldn't do so for a couple of weeks on the off chance that the baby turns.

Re: Anyone have a c/s, not regret it at all, and feel fine?
No, I'm definitely okay with my c/s. For me - my main worry was a possible large baby who might need surgery at birth and I just wanted her out safely and out healthy. How she came out as long as she was healthy and safe was my main concern. I went into labor on my own and never progressed past 7 cm, only had weak contractions - and she passed merconium (they saw when my water broke), she flipped sunny side up last minute etc. She turned out to be 9 lbs 4 ozs. Of course I didn't want to have major surgery - but I don't regret for a second my csection. I had a rough 1st 2 weeks - but had few complaints after that. The drs even said my scars healed very quickly. Today I have no numbness, no itching and no tenderness or pain.

I have absolutely no regrets about having a c-section. I am not that strong when it comes to pain anyway.

Re: Anyone have a c/s, not regret it at all, and feel fine?
it's very stange...what happened to me..
I'm 42 now..I had all 4 of my girls in my 20's... they are 14,16,17,19 yrs old.
i had my son 8 months ago(yes,he was a surprise,but a blessed one)
i was a size 6 when i got pregnant with my first daughter in 87
then every 2 yrs i had another girl, another girl, another girl..
i never lost the weight..i gained like 45-60 lbs with each of my girls.
so when i got pregnant with my son.i only gained 25 lbs,i didnt try not to gain weight, thats just what happened,i ate just fine,
i was a size 16 when i got pregnant with him,he is 8 months old,i have went down to a size 12 now..its like it took me to have him to lose weight..strange,i had all the girls vaginally..but he was a c-section,because he was breech....no regrets...

Re: Anyone have a c/s, not regret it at all, and feel fine?
i must agree with you! i feel great!! of course the first two weeks I was a lil sore, but i think no matter how you deliver the first two weeks everyone needs to recover from!
i think the recovery wasn't as bad as i thought it was gonna be. plus my c/s wasn't planned and after being in labor for 12 hours i was relieved to get the c/s...plus i think i was more scared of the pushing then the c/s anyway!!

ME!ME!ME! I don't regret my c-section at all. I am glad I had one and the recovery wasn't that bad. Plus next time I can schedule it and not have to worry about going though labor again.

Re: Anyone have a c/s, not regret it at all, and feel fine?
I was disappointed I had to have one. But in the end, I had a beautiful, healthy son so I got over that disappointment fast. It looks like I'll be having another CS this time around. It doesn't thrill me, but I don't want to labor again and end up with one.

It took a few weeks, but then I was fine. I don't regret it and will have another one in the future. I did not have a choice with my first.

Re: Anyone have a c/s, not regret it at all, and feel fine?
I knew before I got pregnant that if I had a baby, it would have to be by C-section. That allowed me time to come to terms with it. I still hate having to explain the reasons so I will just say that it was medically necessary. I had extensive fibroid surgery a few years ago and had a very tough time healing. I never felt or looked the same after that but I did get some relief of fibroid pain. My C-section did not make things too much worse.

Re: Anyone have a c/s, not regret it at all, and feel fine?
I had an emergency c-section with DH, after 13 hrs of labor, and by that point I was like "bring it on!!!" DD was also a c, as will DS #2 be next month. I don't feel like I missed out on anything, or disappointed in any way. As long as in the end they are healthy, how could I possibly be disappointed??
