Anyone have a c/s, not regret it at all, and feel fine?

I have to say that this is how I feel.

Maybe because there was no way Cailen was coming out anyway, but after I healed (2 weeks to feel fine) and a couple months to work out intensely again, I have no regrets. I don't feel I missed anything by not pushing him thru the vag. I have no incontinence issues, no issues from pushing, and the scar isn't the prettiest thing but no one sees it but me and DH. Sometimes it gets itchy, but thats my only complaint.

otherwise I feel exactly the same as I did before Cailen, and I'd be fine if I needed another c/s for baby #2.....

Am i the only one?

I didn't have a choice. I was devastated when they told me it would have to be a c/s, but as soon as I went through it, I was like - "oh, that was it??"Chat Icon

My SIL just had one on Monday and she said it was WAY better than her induction with my neice in 2005.

My BFF had a horrid time with hers though.

Me Chat Icon My first was a c/s, and he was a breech boy the entire pregnancy. I guess that helped, in a sense that as I got further along, I knew a c/s was more likely than not. And maybe it also helped in that I was able to vbac, but in any case, I have 2 beautiful children, each coming into the world in a different way!

Two c-sections and I would not have a changed a thing. The doctors gave me 30% odds that I would be able to deliver my DD naturally. Not good odds as far as I was concerned. I had a planned c-section, a wonderful experience and recovery. When I delivered my daughter the doctor said there was NO WAY I could have had her vaginally.
I planned another section with my son and had another great experience.

NO REGRETS!

Same here. Two c-sections and no regrets at all. The first c-section was unplanned. I was in labor for 18hrs and I stopped dialating at 7cm. They had to do an emergency c-section because I was very dizzy, fever and blood pressure was high. It was a tough recovery the first time but the second time was a piece of cake Chat Icon

Definitely me! My C-sec wasn't planned, but I never had my "heart set" on a v-birth... in my mind I always knew that it could go either way. I never really made up one of these "birth plans" because in a way I kind of thought they were a joke. We can't exactly plan it out, you know?

It also helped that I felt the recovery was no big deal... first few days in the hospital were rough, just getting out of bed was hard. I was BFing so only took Motrin, didn't feel good about taking narcotics. Honestly after about 2 weeks it was like nothing happened.

Overall though, I just never felt any real emotional attachment to the delivery process. To me v-birth vs. c-sec were just two different medical procedures, and I'd have whatever one was the best choice when the moment came.

I definitely don't feel deprived of any experience, don't feel inadequate, etc. I felt totally neutral about it. I will be having a scheduled C-sec for my current pregnancy and I feel totally neutral about this one too... not "yay, I get to choose a C-sec" or "noooo, I wish I could have a v-birth". From a medical perspective, it's probably better to have the C-sec, so I will. That's about it.

That said, I DO think it's totally valid to feel cheated/deprived/inadequate, and I actually feel really bad for moms that do. It must be very hard to have such a disappointment during what should be a happy time Chat Icon

The C/S i didn't mind at all. What i will never want again is to be INDUCED Chat Icon

If i can avoid that i most def will. And i am hoping doc will agree since the medicine didn't even work. Or at least i wasn't waiting 12 hours for it to actually work, IN LABOR Chat Icon

Re: Anyone have a c/s, not regret it at all, and feel fine?

I actually requested to have one!!!
Most people though I was insane...but I just had this feeling I would need one anyway...

Im sooo glad I did...
Turns out I had kidney stones, siattica, and he was a pretty big baby (my dr said afterwards that I would of had trouble getting DS out & was the best decision to schedule the c/s).

I also healed really well...so no regrets for me.

I dont regret it. It was best for dd and at 16 weeks pp I feel fine! There are sometimes when I have a little pain in the incision but that is it.

Re: Anyone have a c/s, not regret it at all, and feel fine?

I wouldn't say I feel cheated, but I do feel like I cannot relate when I hear "birth stories." My water broke early Easter morning, I went to get checked out and I was barely dilated and the baby was super high up. I was supposed to go back to the hospital when regular contractions started or 7am the next morning... which ever came first. 7am came first... I had NO contractions. When I was checked, I was in the same position as the morning before... so C-section it was.

I felt pretty good, pretty quickly. I chatted with some other girls at the hospital and was so glad I was not induced and then ended up with a c-section. Those girls felt worse than I did. When I got home, I felt crappy for a few weeks, but I had TONS of help from my DH. He was AWESOME!

In the end, I think it was the right decision and I feel pretty good. It's only 3 months pp, but so far so good.

Re: Anyone have a c/s, not regret it at all, and feel fine?

i had DS via c-section, not by choice, but because I wouldn't dilate. WHen I first heard c-section, i did cry and was a little sad/overwhelmed, but I got over that quickly once I saw my baby boy! It's now almost 4 years later, and I feel great physically {i work out, run ect} and have no regrets! My scar is so little so it's barely noticable, I actually like it; it reminds me of that day my son was born!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Anyone have a c/s, not regret it at all, and feel fine?

I've experienced both. I had a vaginal birth the first time with my DD and this time around a c/s with my DS.

I thought the healing and the post-belly condition was much better with the vaginal delivery...but that was just my experience.
