Just another example of how you can't trust anyone in this country.... there is something about Obabma that is just a bit shady to me and this is definitely an example. it blows my mind that he has not made any comments about this.

at least mccain who was said to have supported tht Hagee guy who was making all the anti_Catholic statements--- at least he defeneded himself. granted, it amy have just been a ploy to get the Catholic vote, but i don't understand how this guy says NOTHING!
when you say nothing, you are supporting it.

and Barak, most people have the good sense of hog tying their crazy uncle and throwing him in the basement when company comes to dinner. we don't sit him at the head of the table and then ask people to ignore him. Chat Icon

my issue with that statement is - if he denies hearing his Pastor's hate speeches, then why call him a "crazy uncle"? it doesn't add up. he's trying to do damage control, but not very well IMO.

Right, b/c he never has anything substantial to say. It's always some clique speech or sentence that "sounds" good and appeases people. On CNN yesterday, someone brought up a great point about how they want Obama to really address this, not just sit and smile and say "well, he has the right to free speech".

And as usual, Obama is just glossing over this with nothing substantial to say, just blanket phrases and statements to appease people.

and someone else also made a good point after the Obama interview. he said that this guy is a man of the cloth in a Christian church preaching hate - which goes against everything in the New Testament.

my prediction is - he is finished. Hillary will get the rest of the delegate votes needed to win the Dem ticket and then McCain will beat her in November.

You quoted the wrong person. I said that, not Ophelia.

And this time, we, the American people, want to hear more from him to explain this, his explanations are lame at best...whether he is the only one or not. This is about him and his choices, no one else right now.

I think it was Goobster than said that...I cannot take credit! Chat Icon

but it's very true.

I have to see at least for McCain and Clinton...they ANSWER questions.

Obama is smart and slick. he knows the least he says, and the more vague he is, the better.

eveyrthing is better when left up to interpretation. those that LOVE him won't look too much more into what he says...so he doesn't risk alienating anyone...those his pastor got for him...and those his college student idealists got for him.

I still wouldn't count on that. Too many people with simple minds will be appeased with his lame "crazy old uncle" statement I bet. They will still buy into the whole hype about Obama...I hope you are right and it's not too late for Hillary...

either way, I still think this Hillary and Obama battle for the Dem ticket is very bad for Democrats and McCain will end up winning.

the sad truth is (IMO), there were no "great" Dem candidates to choose from.

That's what they ALL do... Hilary included, McCain included. The only guy i really respected during the whole campaign believe it or not, was Huckabee. He said what he truly believed in....probably because he knew he wasn't going to win anyway, so there was no need to BS and try to be a people pleaser. he said what he believed in and that was it.

although i have to say for someone that voted Democrat for many years, both Hilary and Obama scare the crap out of me in terms of what they will do... and i have to say, i don't think either of them will get my vote. Stuff like this recent report only helps confirms the shadiness of the Democratic candidates.

now this is an unfair statement.

I don't think ANY political party has cornered the market on shadiness. we can't exactly be too proud of the executive branch currently occupying the white house can we?

there is no great republican to choose from either, but i have to say, a Republican at time i think is better in some ways. For me, the fact that 3 supreme court justices will probably be decided by this next President and what Hilary's socialized medicine will do is enoguh to make me vote Republican this time, even though i hate the war in Iraq and other "republican" platforms.

while I agree that McCain is not the *ideal* candidate, he looks golden by comparison... JMO

why is this an unfair statement??? my post said that the CANDIDATES make shady comments, which i think most of us can agree is true. I never said that our current president doesnt' make shady comments... of course he does! they all do....

To appease the democrats out there. John McCain isnt very conservative in his views. He's definately middle of the road.

you said DEMOCRATIC. not all...that's why I thought it was unfair. I rhink poticians across the board do this, regardless of party affiliation.

why did you change what you wrote anyway? you had a different answer to the same quote above...edited it out and came back with this one???

I thought that was strange...

but anywho. I digress.
