As soon as they pulled her out of me - drugs and all... the both of us cried...

He got a head start on me tho - he was crying before she even made her Earthly entrance! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Did you cry when your DC was born?

No, I didn't, and I'm still surprised that I didn't cry. I cry just looking at her now, doing the smallest thing.

I was thinking "my god, I can't believe I just pushed her out, finally", followed by "I cannot believe she's mine Chat Icon " and feeling completely stunned & overwhelmed.

I'll never forget those feelings Chat Icon

I too cried during the Baby Story programs but not after giving birth. I was suprised. I think I was in shock. It all felt very surreal and dream-like.

DH and I were quoting movie lines (had a c-sect) because he was distracting me from being so nervous. As soon as a heard twin A crying, tears started streaming down. And continued to cry until I saw both of them.

Re: Did you cry when your DC was born?

I was hysterical when I first saw her...the tears instantly came when I heard her cry for the first time. Then I cried non-stop when I heard the Dr. say NICU & they quickly took her out of the room. She just had some trouble transitioning & I was in labor more than 20 hours, but I thought I heard the dr. say something else was wrong & I lost it. We delayed telling my parents for over an hour (they saw my dr. leave & still hadn't heard from us!)

No I didn't cry I was just so exhausted but I couldn't stop looking at him. I was so shocked he was a boy! I thought for sure it would be a girl! My legs were shaking like crazy and I felt like we both looked at eachother like "can you believe what we just went through"

Re: Did you cry when your DC was born?

I didn't cry - It was a total out of body experience and I was worried about the surgery.

But, I basically make up for it now - I probably cry at least once a day when I look at him because I can't believe how lucky I am.

Re: Did you cry when your DC was born?

No for both. I hope that is not terrible but I was so wipped out after both births. With DS#2 I didn't get to hold him for at least 45 minutes after he was born.

I cried when I was able to be alone with them and my DH in my hospital room.

Re: Did you cry when your DC was born?

Yep! I cried when I heard him cry, when I saw him and then very often over the next several days. My husband was laughing at me because I didn't cry when we got engaged and married so neither of us thought I'd cry when Ben was born. Chat Icon

Re: Did you cry when your DC was born?

I didn't cry when DD was born. They actually gave me a sedative right after they delivered her and I was falling asleep which stinks because the couple of pics of us in the operating room I look completely out of it.

Re: Did you cry when your DC was born?

Nope. I was excited to see him but so tired from the whole experience.

I did cry afterward when I got to hold him in the NICU.
