No - I thought I would, but I didn't. I feel like I should have. It was all so overwhelming.

I started to cry when I realized that he wasn't crying and the dr.'s were giving him oxygen and running around helping him. I was hysterical crying and wanted to know if he was OK....when I finally heard him make a noise I just lost it. I cried on and off for the next 3 hours til I could go see him in the NICU...and I cried the 1st few times I saw him there. I was a mess!!! Chat Icon

No, but I never cry when I'm happy, so I didn't think I would. I was moved beyond belief and very happy that day, but I was also kind of numb after the whole thing (not drugged, just exhaustion).

I didn't cry at that moment but now everytime I recall when they put him in my arms I get all teary and choked up.

Delayed reaction I guess. Chat Icon

Re: Did you cry when your DC was born?

Nope. I was so drugged up from the c section I just kept asking "can I close my eyes now" .... I didn't realize I would be so sleepy/unemotional. I tried to get excited but my body just wouldn't let me. I got teary when they brought him to me hours later though.

I was put under for my c-section so I only remember crying hours later when I was more coherent.

Re: Did you cry when your DC was born?

well I was alseep (emergency C) when he was born. but that was prob. a good thing, since he had no pulse and not breathing when born. Once I did see him for the first time I did cry like i have never cried before. But for good reasons, and bad. I was so in love with him, but so afraid I would lose him. Thinking about that moment now, STILL makes me cry

These little ones are just SO precious.

I cried a little bit...it was more like laughing from relief that it was over and the fact that she was what I imagined her to be.Chat Icon

I did not cry...I was so overjoyed that I didn't know what to do! All I remember is wanting to hold him bc it was so surreal to me...now DH is a different story! When he came out to tell our family that our son was born, he was bawling! BIL has it all on tape...so cute!
