Is it possible to get preggo with the pull and pray method...Update- BFN
even though there have never been and questionable times that the ejaculation didnt make it out.
Reason being is that Im a few days late with my period - which has never happened before. But we have been usuing the pull and pray method for many years and never gotten preggo except when we had my son-( of course we didnt pull then-  )
Dh is always very careful to pull out with extra time. So Im not sure if its even possible to get preggo then? Anyone know?
update I tested 3X and got BFN. I took another look at the calender and today was my actual day to get my period if my calculations are correct.I m going to try again tommorrow morning. Im still wondering why I havent gotten AF. I usually spot before my period and Ive never been late infact Im always early. Im very confused as to what is going on with my body.

Completely and totally possible to get PG this way--pre-ejaculate can contain sperm, and all it takes is one!
Thus the name "Pull and PRAY"!

Hmmmm. Thats more than 25% which isnt much different than if you DIDN'T use pull and pray at all.
That just let off a lil lightbulb in my head. The odds of getting pregnant in a given month according to age when a woman is most fertile is approximately:
-early 20s: up to 25 percent
-late 20s and early 30s: up to 15 percent
-late 30s: up to 10 percent
If I didn't want to get PG, I wouldnt be pulling and praying with 25% odds. But then again, Im an old fart so I am in the 10% range.

that number sounds really high to me, too.
Maybe those 27 couples forget to Pray? I wonder if the questionairre for that asks if they engage in silent prayer immediataly following sexual intercourse

-not recommended for sexually inexperienced men
-not recommended for teens"
Well those are big "DUH"s to me - especially for female teens who are SURELY more fertile and more likely to get PG than their older counterparts. And inexperienced men, who may not have found their um well "groove" or style yet, may not be inclined to "pull" fast enough."
I am curious to know the ages of the women in that 27% category.
ETA:
Tilde, please take no offense, your post was very informative and scary at the same time. I know of a handful of teens who got PG this way.

ok Im about 3 days late. While this wasnt a plan it would be a totally welcome thing. Thing is weve used this method for 10 yrs now and only got preggo when we didnt pull the first time. Dh pulls with xtra time in advanced  So aside from the pre cum I just dont know
eta- I guess I should test. Dh is calling my every 10 minutes asking me if AF has arrived.

See I disagree with this...how possibly can there be a statistic for how so many women get pregnant. I think everyone has their own odds....I KNOW mine are more than 15 percent...I have been pregnant multiple times on the 1st or 2nd try

there is prejaculation.. and you can get pregnant from it. So the pull and pray method is a bit more risky for that reason. The prejac.. has no sign, so DH wouldnt know to pull out for it.
Dh and I just had a baby and im bf so cant go on BC..Its a risk.

I guess so. I am also imagining that "ideal conditions" are being considered in these stats and not just "winging it" by playing Russian Roulette. Though I could be wrong. According to these odds, it was pretty miraculous that I got PG so fast. Though I honestly think I was lucky.

lol of course no offense taken!
see the second part of that statement is this:
" Of every 100 women whose partners use withdrawal, four will become pregnant during the first year of perfect use."
So "PERFECT" use means that pulling (AND i guess praying, lol) is accomplished IN TIME, EVERY TIME. and the odds will go down.
idk - for me, i just dont consider it a birth control method. . .

Ummm...
<---------the proof and my DH did pull out plenty early. We had just had a miscarriage and weren't even supposed to be doing the deed
oh, I am old too so technically I only had a 10% chance to get pregnant AT ALL!

yes I did- got a bfn. I looked over my calender and it seems that my period was due exactly today. Im going to try again tommorrow morning if no af. With bryan I used first response and 4 days before my period was due and got a clear 2nd line.
Usually I have spotting before AF since I havent this made me think. Ive never been late before so I dont know. This whole experience has really made me realize that I may want to TTC sooner than I thought. I was a little sad seeing the BFN.
