I was very vocal in my opinion as to why i felt that Obama was a poor choice to lead this country. It was mainly do to his shady past and those he surrounded himself with.

Actually no i have no idea what she meant by that. Radicals are dangerous. cute of you to stick up for her though.

Unfortunately for you, the rest of your message was completely lost when you started your post out with this..

Not for me. It made me Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Because I think Obama is the worst thing for the country which is why he didn't get my vote. Not everyone here thinks Obama is a wonderful leader.

Not saying everyone does or should at all.
But to hear someone say "Obama's shady past" (to me at least) smacks of the poster subscribing to all that fear mongering that gets spewed from the likes of Glenn Beck. Which makes me not take anything else the poster said seriously

From the likes of Glenn Beck makes me Chat Icon Please Obama does have ties to a lot of radical thinkers. They are in the White House with him. You can't deny that. From Wright, to Van Jones to Anita Hill they are all very left wing radicals (IMO).

IMO we need radicals. Our country is becoming a joke, and the status quo will no longer fly. Now, I come from a long line of politicians, state senators, and federal employees, and have respect for them. Saying that, all politicians deal with shady people and many bills have backroom deals going on. You grease my palm, I'll grease yours. It may not be right, but it's certainly not special to the Democrats, or Obama.Chat Icon

We need radicals......Umm really? your right what we need now is a few more Hitler's, Castro's, and Stalin's. Now thats a scary thought.

you lose all my respect of even listening to you with ridiculous responses like this.....you know darn well she didnt mean that

Not all of us against the bill are heartless sacrificial biotches.

I do think that we have a humanitarian obligation to help those that are truly impovershed, in dire financial need and that those that have been dealt an unforseen financial blow should get some sort of temporary relief. I stipulate my argument by stating that I should not have to subsidize through increased taxes and higher premiums for those that chose a different opportunity cost - i.e. an $800/month car payment over an already available medical coverage. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon My parents pay over 14K for their health insurance as small business owners. I am sure they would love to spend that money on a lot of other things, but they are doing what is right. Purchasing health insurance over luxury items like cars and vacations...by the way my parents are both against the bill and they would greatly benefit from it because they would be eligible to go on Medicare now. So it works both ways, just because it is good for you doesn't mean it is good for the country.

Tommy2, what was the point of your post? The only times I have ever seen you on LIF was during the 2008 election and now here you are again.
Do you come on here only to spew your hatred of Obama and create drama?
I don't understand why you felt the necessity to do this.

i feel its necassery because if Obama gets his way, he will try to transform this country into a Western Europian model.

Basically i do not want America to turn int a Welfare state. Right now in Europe the mindset is what can the Government do for me? Not what can i do to better myself.

I am not against reform, something needs to be done. The way it was handled though is pretty shitt_

You don't have to think someone is a wonderful leader to not speak untruths and try to create fear in people.

I was not a fan of Bush but I didn't walk around spewing conspiracy theories about him Chat Icon

Claiming that Obama administration is corrupted. Yes! Well , whose administration was NOT???? Bush's administration was not corrupted???

Let's get out and smell the roses!!!!

So we should stand for corruption then? basically thats exactly what your saying. Corruption is never ok but when it affects 1/6 of the economy theirs a problem.

and what conspiracy theories do u speak? Obama has been recorded saying that he wants Healthcare to be single payer.

Like i said (starter home) unless we vote these guys out in November.

once again my opinion thx.

Of course, corruption is never OK but you are clearly implying that OBAMA's administration is corrupted as if this is the only President with such administration. Why singling him when apparently anyone from any party is corrupted?

And if I remember correctly, Iraq was pretty pricey too!

My opinion too!

I'm not implying. It is corrupt. And yes so was Bush's and many others. But we shouldn't stand for it. Is what im saying.

So what's your point? You decided that OBAMA was your turning point.

That's beside the point of your post on the Healthcare Bill.

OK, we got that you don't like it.

Is it perfect? No.

But saying that our current system is fine is not going to get us anywhere.

50 Millions are without coverage.

We can't just keep beotching about it. At some point, we have to jump with both our feet and go for it.

Will there be "tweacking" along the journey? I am sure.

What plan was even going to please everyone? We have start somewhere. Creating a perfect plan is impossible. Someone is not going to be happy.

Nobody likes change. It disturbs our little routine, what we have and our comfort zone.

But in the end, those who are uncovered cannot be left uncovered.

Tomorrow I can lose my job, DH can lose his job. We can lose our house and with a young child how would I not have insurance? I will eat cheap pasta at every meal to afford COBRA.

Is that a sign of progress?

People are still losing their job, their health coverage.

Something HAD TO be done.

I am sorry you feel it was not the right decision. You are entitled to this opinion. But if you were part of those people who do struggle (and yes, some of them are hard working people!) you might feel differently.

50 Million are without Health insurance? Wow even the current administration didn't put the numbers out that high. I guess your adding Illegals into the total.

You can also drop a couple more million because their are a lot of people who can afford insurance but refuse to pay for it. Nice cars and a pimp cellphone are more important.

Could you please specify which Western European Countries you are refering to? There are quite a few Countries in that little region of the World. And they have different political point of view too.

Just to add to the irony. Some Countries in Western Europe are trying to copy on the American model! Go figure!

Again let's just talk in generality since you cannot give an exact example.

Lets talk about your love affair with Obama.

I'll play along... England hows that?

And some of those countries are trying to copy the American Model because it worked. It has it flaws no doubt, but when high ranking officials where socialized medical is the norm come here for surgery. i think that speaks volumes

Re: Why I am against the Healthcare Bill...

does anyone else realize that the frontman is always the president, meanwhile the cooks in the kitchen are the real power--wielders that are corrupting stuff?

bush, obama, whoever: just a frontman. they may or may not be corrupt, but they appear to run the show

but they really don't.

the ENTIRE system is corrupt. We let a small (and very very wealthy) portion of the US control us, meanwhile, WE are in the majority. WE want the reform the way WE want it.

They have those meetings - the Bilderberg Group - 130 of the most powerful & rich in the wolrd - right here - and they have "i will scratch your back if you scratch mine"

THIS is what they want - nations divided, people arguing until they are blue in the face, meanwhile, there are so many other big issues being fcked with in the background.

no one can change anything, because everyone picks sides of the gov't - instead of just saying , "Geez! this ENTIRE government needs to be run by the PEOPLE!"

i bet we all would have a lot more in common when it comes down to it.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon We all want what is best - maybe just in different ways. But I bet my life we aren't nearly as corrupt.

I am glad you are talking about England. You enlighted me. Not really a general statement to call it Western Europe though since England is well known for being part of the EEC and not wanted to be part of it.

Kind of a sole ranger. So I would hardly talk about England as representative of Western Europe.

You single-handedly expressed exactly how I feel about this bill. I haven't be able to find the words to say how I feel about it.
