I'm curious though, if you go to the relationship board, will you find posts where women who choose to stay with their husbands are supported, not judged? But we're so quick to judge Hillary for staying with him.

We have no idea what their marriage is like. It's not our business. Yes, Bill is a pig. I don't know enough about the sexual harassment claims to comment, but I do know that you can't help who you love. I don't think it's had any bearing on her professional success, and despite him being a pig I also think he was a good President. I find Trump's attitude much more troublesome.

Bill has been accused of sexual harassment numerous times. Forget the Monica thing - but sexual harassment? When there's smoke, there's fire. So I do judge her for staying with him and clouds my view of her declaring she's a feminist.

I also can't get the "superpredator" crap out of my head.

Signed,

A registered dem who is liberal but not blind to her ******** (or trump's)

That's fair enough. At least you see the reason on why I am baffled she stayed with him.

I know the definition of a feminist. But to take it to another level- a strong woman should hold her ground and not tolerate crap- so therefore Hillary should not be president.

Furthermore, the "ladies" on the other side often ridicule us conservatives on here and take it to another level- quite frankly, it's childish. I refuse to even argue with you guys anymore because you guys act like idiots, plain and simple. At least Eating My Veggies states her opinions eloquently and isn't ridiculing anyone, I respect what she has to say- not you guys.

And someone said she didn't like what I said about the 2nd amendment in the past and thinks I am a racist. Whatever, think whatever. You don't know me. But excuse me for my support for law enforcement and not being blind to the shootings in Chicago which are WAY up there in the thousands.... i understand some cases were wrong.... But now we are going off topic. I'm just done. Vote for whoever, I don't care. The end.

I would hope that you both are intelligent enough to realize that HRC in all likelihood stayed with Bill NOT because she "loves him to death" or "forgives everything he did". She stayed because in all honestly, he was a tool for her, a means for her to further her OWN political career. NOT every marriage is about love and rainbows, people marry and stay married for other reasons aside from love.

This isn't a "normal" marriage where she comes home every night and makes him dinner and they do everything together. I'm sure her and Bill have spent a good portion of their married life living VERY separate lives while focusing WAY more on their own political careers than each other. Ultimately though, it's really NOT anyone's business why she stayed and it has ZERO bearing on her ability to run a country, do her job, or function as a strong, independent woman. Somehow, despite being cheated on, she managed to become a Senator and Secretary of State. Amazing!! A women who can actually achieve something in her career even though she was cheated on, it's craziness!!! Chat Icon

To NOT vote for her because she stayed in a marriage that is NONE of your business and NOBODY knows the particulars of WHY she stayed is plain stupid. Add to that, it's utterly ridiculous to rant over HRC and her HUSBAND's affair but yet completely be okay with the that fact that Trump, the moron who YOU want to be President of this nation, was a philandering pig who cheated on his wife, fathered an illegitimate child, and subsequently left his wife for his mistress. Talk about a double standard. Sorry but literally EVERYTHING out of your mouth MrsMick sounds ridiculous, not well thought out, and based in nothing other than your misguided opinions. But to each his own.

I think staying with someone through infidelity is their own business. But rape/sexual harassment claims/underage nonsense (not just bill - - anyone -) it's hard NOT to judge anyone staying with someone like that. Especially someone in office, someone who declares feminist beliefs. For me at least.

I judge bill cosby's wife. Huma - well now that we know Weiner was doing creepy shit with his kid close by and now likely with an underage girl, she kicked him to curb. And good.

I also dont like the assumption that if you're not falling all over yourself for Hillary that you must hate women or begrudge them success. Thats an insult to woman - we can think for ourselves and make reasonings and choices..
and many intelligent people who are democrats and well-informed don't like HRC for good reason.

People need to realize that these are the two most unlikable candidates in a very long time - and we deserve better.

He's lost his mind. He really has.

Especially when he discusses crimes.

He forgets his lovely daughter shoplifting from

Everyone keeps saying we "deserve better" and I don't think anyone would argue that point. However, the fact is...............these are the cards that have been dealt to the American public and now we have to choose between these two and decide who can do the job better. You don't have to love, or even like, HRC but I feel like the BEST plan of attack in this election is to look strictly at the credentials of the two candidates and let that be your guide.

For me, a woman who has spent her life in politics, who was in the White House as First Lady for 8 years, who was a Senator, who was Secretary of State, who understands how government works, who understands policy and foreign relations, and who understands our economy is SUCH A BETTER CHOICE than a man who I am CONVINCED only got into this election to fuel his own ego, who has NO understanding of our economy or government, who claims he will fix our national debt YET has claimed bankruptcy in excess of 5-6 times, who is a hothead, who cannot form a coherent, well thought out sentence, and whose only contribution to this election is an annoying tagline that holds NO weight and isn't backed by ANY plan to "Make America Great Again".

This election is like choosing between an experienced grown up to run the country AND a rambling child who needs to return to his playground.

I don't love HRC but I have MUCH more faith in her ability to lead this nation than a self absorbed idiot like Trump. He is in WAY over his head and sadly, if he wins, we all better start packing because $hit is about to get real bad in this country.

But sadly, Trump isn't held to that same standard. He's been accused multiple times of sexual harassment, and also accused of statutory rape, but the media just treats it as "he's a billionaire playboy, so boys will be boys..."

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/15/us/politics/donald-trump-women.html?_r=0

The New York Times interviewed dozens of women who had worked with or for Mr. Trump over the past four decades, in the worlds of real estate, modeling and pageants; women who had dated him or interacted with him socially; and women and men who had closely observed his conduct since his adolescence. In all, more than 50 interviews were conducted over the course of six weeks.

Their accounts — many relayed here in their own words — reveal unwelcome romantic advances, unending commentary on the female form, a shrewd reliance on ambitious women, and unsettling workplace conduct, according to the interviews, as well as court records and written recollections. The interactions occurred in his offices at Trump Tower, at his homes, at construction sites and backstage at beauty pageants. They appeared to be fleeting, unimportant moments to him, but they left lasting impressions on the women who experienced them.

I agree. Him too. (I'm not pro-trump either) but I just mentioned HrC and Bill because I know some people don't understand why normally hardcore dems can't get behind her.

It's your opinion that Hillary is unlikable, but the truth is a lot of people truly like her and her abilities.

And I said it before, we don't deserve better. We are not better people, we are not a better country, the candidates we have are a direct reflection of what our country has become. We have these two candidates because we are an unhappy, angry country who has lost all basic sense of decency.

I especially know that Huma is a liberal but I have WAY more respect for her than HRC. She kicked that weiner to the curb. Good for her! She has my respect. I know everyone's marriage is different and people forgive what they can forgive, fine. Doesn't mean I agree with them. Or have to for that matter.

You really need to stop. You sound so ridiculous. Staying with a man to help your own career doesn't make you a "snake". Are you so naive to think that in the grown up world that we all live in there aren't MANY people who take advantage of connections, people, situations, etc to help further themselves??? C'mon, be real.

For the record, real strong women are SMART to enough to use EVERY advantage around them to help themselves get where there want to be. There is really no shame in that unless ALL you're doing is sleeping your way to the top which let's be honest, HRC was NOT doing.

For the record, real strong women are SMART to enough to use EVERY advantage around them to help themselves get where there want to be. There is really no shame in that unless ALL you're doing in sleeping your way to the top which let's be honest, HRC was NOT doing.

Whatever. You think I sound ridiculous and I think you sound ridiculous. Leave it at that.

Oh I know that is why she stayed with him. And again, she's a snake then. She uses people to get where she needs to go. I detest women like that. Real strong women do it all on their own.

While it is my view that she is unlikable, the polls have been pretty close. Alarmingly close. I think we had a feeling this would be in the bag and it doesn't seem like it's the cakewalk that was expected. No one felt Trump would be this far. I would believe that many are silent in their support of Trump for fear of ridicule. Look, I wish I could get on the HRC train. And I normally 99.9% of the time share the same views as you :). And when I say we deserve better, well - I hope people get more involved in politics. I hope this shakes people and moves them to get involved more. A common Joe or Jane. I'm tired of politics as usual myself.

Oh I know that is why she stayed with him. And again, she's a snake then. She uses people to get where she needs to go. I detest women like that. Real strong women do it all on their own.

You really need to stop. You sound so ridiculous. Staying with a man to help your own career doesn't make you a "snake". Are you so naive to think that in the grown up world that we all live in there aren't MANY people who take advantage of connections, people, situations, etc to help further themselves??? Re: The Debate

This is really getting out of hand. I don't care who you ladies vote for . That is your choice, but please stop belittling each other over who you are voting for. Im sorry, I am seeing freindships being lost, or unfriending others on Facebook for their political views. Yes, I cant stand Hillary...my best friend LOVES her. I will not degrade her or stop being friends. That is her choice and her opinion. But please stop mocking people who are voting for Trump. My choice, my decision. I never once was condescending to anyone on here voting for Hillary. I feel like Im in high school.

I am staying out of the debate part, because I am tired of always defending myself....and to who???

Chat Icon Again, we differ in views but I love how you state how you feel. So I applaud you. You don't insult anyone.

I know we differ. I also have some Trump people in my family who are just fed up. So I sort of got that glimpse into the "other side."

In my heart, I feel most don't like Trump. They don't share the same ideals or views or agree with him. But they are just done and willing to have anyone else in office. People who have suffered with unemployment or the healthcare nonsense. I can see where a huge drastic shift would provide some with hope.

I haven't been unemployed or deal with ****** healthcare insurance. But those I talk to who have been impacted are in dire shape. So while I'm sitting here loving that gays are allowed to marry under Obama's presidency, some can't even afford to go to the doctor or lost their job. Which isn't the fault of any one person, but these shifts we have had. So I try to be understanding and take myself out of my own shoes to try to "get it."

Is it really the hand we were dealt though? I mean they're both where they are bc they won their respective primaries. Trump beat governors, and other successful politicians to earn the nomination. And Clinton beat out Bernie, despite his almost cult like following.

Yes, all true, but at the end of the day..............this is now what we have before us. Whining about the choices gets us nowhere. Here we are, Clinton or Trump. Now we just have to choose.
