I don't understand why people think having a different opinion gets you kicked off. As long as people are respectful why would it? Most recently the transgender sports thread and the trajectory, just 2 recent examples where people are posting different views and opinions and being respectful, not stirring the pot.

I am not defending her actions so much as questioning yours and some others on this thread. That's the difference. Can you find one post on here where I defend her? I never said VB is great and what she did was right! I'm just saying I have never seen her threaten anyone, I think it's wrong to get kicked off soley for being an a$$ hole. etc etc etc.
And to be honest, I care very little. I'm at the tail end of my covid quarantine and frankly I have nothing better to do. I assume that's why most of us are on here? To pass the time?
We have repeatedly responded to you explaining why we had an issue with her, you just don't see to like the answer.
Furthermore being a complete a$$hole is more than enough reason to get booted. While we are all just wasting time on here people do want to engage in a legitimate conversation. When someone CONSTANTLY derails every thread and stirs up drama with other posters then they need to go. Sorry but she got exactly what she deserved, if she had any social awareness whatsoever than things would not have gotten to this point.

I don't think it's really about defending her per se but the idea of someone getting kicked off because they were annoying and didn't agree with the masses. It is common knowledge, don't put something you don't want on the internet on the internet. It doesn't go away.
Who cares if she did a search. I will readily admit I have searched a user name more than once trying to figure out where some of their comments are coming from. Sometimes I feel like I'm talking to my teenage daughter on this Board. If you don't like it, ignore it but people don't, they keep going on and on for pages. This post is one of them. The whole point of this post was juvenile to start with. There are plenty on this Board who are just as antagonistic, rude and nasty yet they are still here. If one gets banned they they should all be banned.

I get what you're saying. She was very antagonistic. But VB said some very specific things about certain long-time users and when those people called her out for it and told her it made them uncomfortable she didn't stop out of courtesy, she just kept going at it and digging up more because she found it fun I guess? Idk. Like I said I was never on the receiving end of it so she didn't personally bother me. Truthfully I found some of her nonsense entertaining (not the personal attacks, just some of the off the wall stuff she'd say lol) but I personally think when multiple people are telling you that your actions make them uncomfortable and ask you to stop, maybe do so?
Yes, agree completely - but even on this post - I am asking questions and everyone is bringing up the same general information and because I haven't seen it for myself I am asked why I am defending her and told that they know I am her friend. I've never met her - have no idea who she is and no reason to defend her.
And also, without any drama these boards are completely boring. I wish people would stop getting anyone who brings a little life to these boards kicked off!
And to your point, I am also not on the receiving end of it so I probably would not like it if it was being done to me either.

Lulu I agree with you about remembering some stuff that people have posted. I haven’t used the search feature either. Arguing online really isn’t that important to me so if I were on the receiving end of “threatening “and “stalker” posts I would probably just step back and chill. I guess the most vocal members on here have strong online personalities. I wonder if they are like that in real life...

But seriously, does anyone truly care that she was kicked off?? If you don't know her IRL then good riddance. She was nothing but a troublemaker.
If you're regularly on the politics board you can't help but notice just how quiet and civil the board has been since she stopped posting. ALL anyone wanted was for her to reign herself in, if she did that and conversed with everyone like a normal functioning human being than none of this would be an issue. Period.

Okay I can tell you you are an ESL teacher in germany. You are divorced. Your significant other lives with you part time and takes care of his mom. He travels all over germany which is why you didn't let him in during the early stages of the pandemic. You love cats. You have a neighbor with domestic dispute issues. you have no children. I can go on if you would like and I will delete this in a moment but believe me, you post a lot and you post a lot of personal details.

I think I remember certain peoples posts because they do divulge personal information, which I really do not. I know that a bunch of people on here don’t actually live on Long Island, they have kids, they may not have kids, their jobs, stuff like that.

Word on the street is that our troll was removed from the site, fingers crossed that's true. Haven't heard a peep from her in the last 24 hrs so that's a good sign.
But when you click on the user name it still shows active. When they deactivate someone it usually shows invalid user when you click on their screenname
I know, it's odd. But the TBTB FM'ed another member and confirmed she was removed. That screenname has been quiet so I am sure she's been blocked in some way.
So the PTB allegedly blocked VB because a group of people on here didn’t like what she had to say and didn’t have the self control to ignore her? But the person who told another user to kill herself remains an active poster? Yeah, that’s not hypocritical.
That’s what I don’t understand.
She was often backed into a corner and one of the few left that would dare disagree with certain people on here. If she posted something they didn’t agree with they would be on her post within seconds telling her what an idiot she is and she’s wrong. But if she disagreed with their post she was stirring the pot.
I cant believe people ‘report’ someone because they don’t agree with them and try to get them censored. Yet, actual threats can be made by others that have the same opinion as you and that’s ok. That scares the crap out of me. Seriously.
I have to agree - even this post just seems so high school clique. It's part of the reason that I don't come on this board because if you don't massage everything you say to go along with the crowd you are called names. I believe someone on here even called me a racist. It's crazy. And to be honest without people like valentinesbaby it's kind of boring to read a bunch of posts that all say the same thing because everyone is afraid to give their actual opinion.

And to be completely transparent I think that was me who posted that something you wrote was racist when we went back and forth with each at the beginning of the pandemic. I know it got heated and ugly. So I apologize for my part in that whole nonsense.
Ha! I didn't think it was you that called me a racist but you did tell me to shut up!!! LOL I apologize for my behavior at the beginning of the pandemic as well! Definitely was not in the right frame of mind. I actually think we probably agree on things most of the time! And I am definitely not a racist. ;)
I’m not sure if it was me but I couldn’t rule it out since we were so irate with each other. And I am much too lazy to mess with that search feature. Lol. So I wanted to clear the air. Yes. I think we were all on edge during that time because things were about to change and now we are all on edge because nothing is changing back.

I 100% agree. There's only a handful of users left on these boards and like 3 daily posts. It's very boring around here, especially with covid keeping so much off limits and FB being a vast wasteland.
I would've preferred if VB could have just done her zany off the wall entertaining thing without bringing personal attacks or creeping up on people. Honestly, lots of times I tried to engage with her just to see if she would and she never did. She would throw me a couple of these guys  (which was funny because my thoughts were the complete opposite of hers) or she'd give me 3 word responses, and just went right on attacking Hofstra, even if I had used similar words as Hofstra. It was the weirdest thing. It made me think maybe she might be an old poster with a personal problem with Hofstra (VB said she was an old poster but never revealed who). And she also had this habit where you could explain to her 50x in 50 different ways how something she didn't seem to understand worked and she'd keep telling you you were wrong (for example GoldenRod just responded to your post saying all those active users are really bots and you replied thanks for the info (I didn't know either so I learned something new) but if you had been VB you would've replied "GoldenRod you're lying, you know nothing, those are active LIF housewives!" she did that kind of thing almost daily lol

Yes, but when someone exaggerates stuff and calls you mentally ill, then that is defamation. I responded to a few threads online about anxiety and Effexor. These are all common things and that doesn’t make me mentally ill to the point she described me.
