There is no "mob/clique", just a bunch of people who got REALLY tired of ONE person constantly derailing threads and harping on the same one or two people NO matter what was said or what the topic was.
VB had a BLATANT obsession with me, she took every opportunity to bring up my life, my house, my DH, my everything to the point where it was becoming out of control. If she talked ACTUAL politics, fine. But she had some weird axe to grind and it was the ONLY reason she was on this board. She ignored virtually everyone but me, just ask GoldenRod and others.........they were very aware of that as well.
Feel free to go back and reread ANY thread we were on together. Five people could the SAME thing to her but she latched on to MY comments and then proceeded to obsess over just my comments until she completely derailed the thread. EVERY freaking time.
She added absolutely nothing to these boards other than drama, sh!t stirring and personal attacks while spreading propaganda, misinformation and lies. Good riddance.

I actually reached out to Hofstra because of what VB posted.
I saw it as a threat after everything that I read going on between the 2 of them.
There is something very creepy and weird about VB and the postings.
Also, VB was hiding. She/he said they were an old poster but would not share who they were?

Well Kingklang did tell her to die and called her a sh!tty mom. But for some reason that keeps getting glossed over. They were both equally wrong on that thread.
VB relentlessly went after Kling, at some point a person will snap and get vicious. VB pushes everyone to insanity.
Yes, I did snap. She searched my name and went through all forums I was on to then come back and tell me I had mental problems, I was unstable, and to “get well soon.” Because I have anxiety, like the rest of the world and she based this off a medication I was on (a common one, btw). She went into my personal life and said stuff about my SO. The thing was the stuff on other boards is not that bad. But the fact that she pushed me, yeah, no. It gets old and when you are on the receiving end of it, then get back to me. It was creepy AF. There was also info about Hofstra that she had to have gotten from an outside source.
No one reported her. A few FMs were sent asking someone to be mod because if things that were posted. TPTB then banned her. I’m going to guess that they looked into it a bit more.

Could VB have been referring to the fact that Hoftra has a cooking blog???? And before I am accused of going back and stalking her, she has posted the blog on here quite a few times and I have looked at it. Maybe there is more to it than you realize from reading one post....

I'm going to say you, and the others, seem to be over reacting. I think that VB is very antagonistic but I don't think that she is a real threat to anyone on this site. As I said earlier all of you are claiming she is a poster from the past (and I agree with you because although I can't remember the screen name I do remember someone years ago with a very similar personality) and if she has been on here that long without showing up at your house or doing something bad to you and your family I think it's probably safe to say that she's not going to start now. That's my 2 cents.

Oh, she know about the blog, as do many on here, but her comments to me were snide and condescending. That is how she spoke to most people on here.
I am a little confused as to why you're continuing to defend her action when MULTIPLE people on here have repeatedly said they had an issue with her. We can't all be lying.

Obviously it was a reference to her cooking blog and her posts on the dining board! But let's not pretend there isn't a certain connotation in those specific words used towards a woman. She didn't say "get back to your cooking blog" or "get back to making cooking posts"... She specifically said "get back in the kitchen".

Where you on these boards when a bunch of sh!t went down with Barb? Someone was stalking her on these boards and did try to cause some issues at her home. So it can happen.
VB said she was an old poster but would not share her name.
No one really knows what someone else is capable of.
My little hairs went up and I shared a feeling and my opinion. Just as you are doing.
I don't even know if VB was banned or not. I haven't tried to find out so this may even be a moot point.
ETA: I personally was a victim to someone that was shared on these boards although it didn't originate here. I have no doubts that things can quickly escalate under the right circumstances.

We get it, you're her friend but your friend was an a$$hole and she got called out on it.
I don't think anyone is afraid of her or thinks she will do anything psycho however, everyone is sick of her INCESSANT nonsense. Targeting specific posters, constantly derailing posts and digging up ancient history just to throw out a snide remark makes someone a complete a$$hole and that's why she's gone now.
Really, it was enough.

I'm curious too. Is it that someone actually feels threatened by this person or is it that she is annoying and a sh*t stirrer? I kind of remember the post where she mentioned putting out personal information - I thought it was actually aimed at JennP and not Hofstra but maybe I am remembering incorrectly. It was because some people in here thought she was annoying and a sh!t stirrer. What I don’t understand is why anyone who supposedly hates drama and wanted to stop it, continued answering to her posts none stop. If they really didn’t want any of this to continue, then why reply?? Easy peasy...stop engaging and the “troll” will eventually stop. No need to remind everyone in a mob-mentality way, that is actually creepy. And regarding people complaining about supposedly VB mentioning posters’ personal info, well personal info stops being private the moment u post it in a public forum, if u don’t want anyone to know ur info, then don’t post it.
ITA about the personal info. I'm still going to stand by my opinion though that it's strange for anyone to use the search feature 50x a day every single day to look up any poster's words from 15 years ago lol what is the point of that?? and it sounds tiresome and boring. Who even has the energy or desire to do that?  Honestly, I think that's why she only went after certain people - because she had more info to grab onto and try to make a case over. Strange.

Because this is how I feel and just because I feel differently does not mean I should change how I feel because all of you agree and I don't. That's kind of the point! I don't think you are lying as much as you are over reacting. I think this is a matter of opinion, not fact. She hasn't done anything dangerous so you can't point to anything that will make me think that she is dangerous. Hopefully I never have to eat those words but I don't think I will!

Ive bene on these boards since LIW but I don't remember Barb. I know it can happen I just get the sense that it won't happen here but again that's just my opinion and I hope it's correct!

I'm just saying it doesn't take searching to remember info about posters. Can anyone point me in the direction of a post where VB brought up another post from 15 years ago that wasn't from memory? Like I said, I no longer really come on the politics board so clearly I missed something...

Could VB have been referring to the fact that Hoftra has a cooking blog???? And before I am accused of going back and stalking her, she has posted the blog on here quite a few times and I have looked at it. Maybe there is more to it than you realize from reading one post....
Oh, she know about the blog, as do many on here, but her comments to me were snide and condescending. That is how she spoke to most people on here.
I am a little confused as to why you're continuing to defend her action when MULTIPLE people on here have repeatedly said they had an issue with her. We can't all be lying.
Because this is how I feel and just because I feel differently does not mean I should change how I feel because all of you agree and I don't. That's kind of the point! I don't think you are lying as much as you are over reacting. I think this is a matter of opinion, not fact. She hasn't done anything dangerous so you can't point to anything that will make me think that she is dangerous. Hopefully I never have to eat those words but I don't think I will!
Everyone can't be overreacting and nobody is saying she is dangerous. We are however saying she was a sh!t stirring a$$hole and we were all fed up with her. She literally blew this board up EVERY DAY.
You can feel how you want and I don't intend to change your mind. I will say this though, since you weren't on the receiving end of her BS and rarely post on this specific board then maybe you don't really have a good enough handle on what took place these last few months to say we're overreacting.

Again I am thinking that she was probably just being antagonistic. Contrary to what is being said now that she is my "friend" and that's why I am "defending" her I have no idea who she is from a hole in the wall and I am not defending her so much as wondering why someone got kicked off.

I'm curious too. Is it that someone actually feels threatened by this person or is it that she is annoying and a sh*t stirrer? What I don’t understand is why anyone who supposedly hates drama and wanted to stop it, continued answering to her posts none stop. If they really didn’t want any of this to continue, then why reply?? Easy peasy...stop engaging and the “troll” will eventually stop. No need to remind everyone in a mob-mentality way, that is actually creepy. And regarding people complaining about supposedly VB mentioning posters’ personal info, well personal info stops being private the moment u post it in a public forum, if u don’t want anyone to know ur info, then don’t post it.

I'm still going to stand by my opinion though that it's strange for anyone to use the search feature 50x a day every single day to look up any poster's words from 15 years ago lol what is the point of that?? and it sounds tiresome and boring. Who even has the energy or desire to do that? Honestly, I think that's why she only went after certain people - because she had more info to grab onto and try to make a case over. Strange.

Do I think personally think VB was a threat? No. Not really. But I can also say that because I wasn't on the receiving end of her stunts so really it's not for me to say. Who really knows what anyone's intentions are?

I am not defending her actions so much as questioning yours and some others on this thread. That's the difference. Can you find one post on here where I defend her? I never said VB is great and what she did was right! I'm just saying I have never seen her threaten anyone, I think it's wrong to get kicked off soley for being an a$$ hole. etc etc etc.
And to be honest, I care very little. I'm at the tail end of my covid quarantine and frankly I have nothing better to do. I assume that's why most of us are on here? To pass the time?

-VB didn't "disagree" with some people, she intentionally didn't have any solid opinions on anything, just so she could antagonize *everyone*, and often "argued" both sides of the same issue, just to get a rise out of people.
-She seemed to hone in on Hofstra. There would be pages of retorts to VB from numerous people, and she would only attack Hofstra. I tried to get her to come after me many times to have an actual debate (or a baseless argument... whatever...), but she almost never followed up with me.
-There *have* been instances where things in LIF got out of LIF and into the real world. Hopefully that never happens here, but it has happened.
-The search engine in LIF is terrible. Unless you are really desperate to find something, the search in here is not very good, or fun.
-Since VB hasn't been responding (her account still appears to be active, so I don't think she was deleted. She might have a temporary ban. I can't tell for sure.), things have been much more civil. Even this back and forth in this thread is 100 times more civil than any thread that VB infiltrated and sidetracked.
And most importantly, I posted a thread about hunting Bigfoot.

And I can tell you so much about a lot of posters. You can't recall anything about anyone? I can tell you half on KK life without having to use the search feature. I can also recall a lot of stuff about you. I assume that people can do the same about me. I guess that's why I don't think it's so "creepy" per say.

I get what you're saying. She was very antagonistic. But VB said some very specific things about certain long-time users and when those people called her out for it and told her it made them uncomfortable she didn't stop out of courtesy, she just kept going at it and digging up more because she found it fun I guess? Idk. Like I said I was never on the receiving end of it so she didn't personally bother me. Truthfully I found some of her nonsense entertaining (not the personal attacks, just some of the off the wall stuff she'd say lol) but I personally think when multiple people are telling you that your actions make them uncomfortable and ask you to stop, maybe do so?

Thank you - this was useful information. I was unaware that things escalated into real life. I have been on here a long time obviously but don't know any of you IRL. I only remember something with that woman who they had the fund raiser for and then she went a little crazy but again don't even fully remember that.
