Yeah, good choice, go to the new doctor. Your doctor does not know for SURE that it is not hereditary. Plus, at this point, you don't know the treatment you'll get at your current doctors after he said this. No need to be dismissed.

WOW! What an imbecile! I say make the drive...I drive 30 minutes to see my allergy/asthma specialist because I  her. If a doctor is excellent & really, really meets all of your needs, it's worth the drive. Good Luck!

All I can say is...WOW....what an a$$hole! He seems very cold-hearted. I'm so sorry that you've had to deal with him during one of the most painful times of your life. You deserve to be surrounded only by people who will be uplifting and..duh...helpful! He does not seem to be either. Good luck tomorrow!

You know, they say that only a good doctor encourages you to get a second opinion. The fact that he was debating you getting a second opinion speaks volumes.

ok so i called my doctors office earlier to get copies of my records and i get a phone call about a half hour ago from my doctor.. he tells me that he does not understand why i am going to get a 2nd opinion.. so i basically told him i was going to my sisters doctor and he will be comparing records to see if we have similar issues and what not... he then tells me....... brace yourself....
" i will tell you right now that you have nothing similar in common "
 i was FLOORED!! couldnt believe what he said! i guess i have my answer now ladies...
on a positive note, my records are ready , picking them up after work and made an appt already for tomorrow morning.!! they fit me in!! 
OMG deanna!! i hope you are running away from that dr. as fast as you can!!!

WHAT AN ABSOLUTE A$$HOLE! I realize I am yelling here but if that didn't tell you anything about this doc,well...
And how can he say that having never examined your sister- I swear he is just concerned about a lawsuit here.
Edited to add: I ended up leaving my OB/GYN after my M/C as well. She was so cold and didn't really help me at all. It is definately a small blessing in disguise that this man will not be delivering your baby

i am glad you are going to see your sisters doctor your situations are just to similar, and for your doctor to say your situations have nothing in common without seeing your sister or here records definitely tells you all you need to know

Honestly mama.....I do think it's worth the drive! And hunny, maybe you don't need that particular doctor your sister is seeing but you need another one. Girl, you have been on the fence about this doctors reliability since you had you m/c and I think it's time to make a move. This is all just my opinion and what I would do. Finding a comfortable doctor is stressful enough....I'd go on your sisters referal and at least give it a shot!

Like a previous poster mentioned, I bet he is worried about a lawsuit. OB/GYN's get sued all the time and have to pay extremely high malpractice insurance. He's probably shaking in his boots right now.

I would totally do the drive to your sisters Doctor. I would much rather have a very cautious Doctor.
If he wanted to do a cerlclage, tape and crazy glue, I would be 100% for it!!!!
