Kind of a spin off: WHAT SUPERMARKET DO YOU SHOP AT AND WHY
Just wondering where everyone shops. Where you think the best buys are. I go betwee three. Waldbaums, Pathmark and Stop and Shop.
Not sure which one is cheaper though. .
Thoughts???

Mostly Stop N Shop, once in while Waldbaums if I'm close by to one.

Wal-mart (in woodbury- it's a super wal-mart and super cheap for the stuff my DH eats and drinks)
waldbaums - but I only buy what's on sale for the week

DW clips coupons, so whoever has the best sales/coupon deals.
We primarily go to BJs, though. Best prices for a lot of stuff.

I don't know why anyone even shops at a supermarket anymore for anything other than meat and produce. Unless you have coupons and find an extraordinary sale. Target's prices are a fraction of what things cost at the grocery store. Walmart is cheap too, but always disoragnized.

Mosty of the time we go to Stop n Shop, because it is right by us. Sometimes Trader Joes.

Lately I've been avoiding supermarkets.
I go to Sam's Club once a month and Target. I get little things at the community market in town (like lettuce and such). Honestly, no supermarket can touch the Sam's Club prices. I walk out spending the same amount for double the amount of food.

Feel like I get the most for my money at Pathmark, but live closer to King Kullen so shop there a lot too

Waldbaums because it is the closest. I always use coupons though and only buy what is on sale. I also go to Walmart for many things that are much cheaper there. It is also very close to me. With the price of gas, unless the store that is cheaper is close by it doesn't pay for me to go.

great prices at TJ's
example- my DH loves rice pudding
it's $1.99 at TJs
it's $2.80 at Waldaums
I normally buy 3
it adds up and it's healthier too!

I don't have too many choices where I live, so it's Shop Rite for us. There's a Stop and Shop on my way home that I sometimes stop in if I have to pick something up for dinner.
There's also a Trader Joes near my office, but it's really small and there's not much of a selection.

shoprite
occassionaly waldbaums
trader joes once in a while
king kullen is overpriced
i shop the circulars and plan around that.

I like IGA because it is small and run by hometown people.
We'll also go to Waldbaums and King Kullen. I like King Kullen because they use local farmers.
The one thing I don't like about Waldbaums is they dont carry Boarshead meat and that's really all we eat.

For us, it depends what we need / who has what on sale...
We tend to buy things like chicken/beef/etc at BJs or Costco, unless one of the supermarkets has something on sale.
King Kullen is most convenient for us, but they are SO overpriced and difficult sometimes (they won't double internet coupons!), so we usually go to Stop and Shop...
For big meals like Thanksgiving, I watch the circular and I will go to 2-3 different stores if I can save a lot of money...
And coupons, coupons, coupons!!!

I make my rounds:
first at TJs. I cook gluten free, they make it easier.
Target...diapers, dry items that are cheaper then TJs
Harris Teeter, supermarket...its where I get our sushi at a great price once a week.
Dollar Store...household cleaners
