Kind of a spin-off to anonymous posting...
Do you associate people more by their screen names than real names???
For the life of me, I can hardly remmeber real names unless I have met them several times. If someone mentions, for example - "Deb" and I'm like, who? They have to say - "You know, SmileyD..." and then I'm like oooohhhh!!!!
I am awful at GTG's - I ask everyone their screen names when they introduce themselves, and then keep forgetting their real names....

ETA: I know you as Liza but yes...recent GTG, I had to ask everyone's screen name in order to know who they were and no, I didnt remember anyone NAMES.

I associate them by screen names rather than names. I'm horrible with names to begin with so it complicates things.

It depends on the screen name. Once I have met someone I call them by their real name but most of my friends on here use their real name as their sn.
I guess it kind of worked out well, although Phyl will always be that impossible sn that I cannot spell or pronounce to this day!

I do too, but that's because you were my date twin on LIW Most people it's their screen names. Even some people from LIW that I know, I don't realize what their new names are here on LIF.

In the beginning, I'll associate people by their screen names and then slowly try to get used to using their regular name when I see them in person.
I'm horrible with names to begin with so That's me to a tee. Try as I might, I just cannot remember them. So I find it even harder to remember two names for a person.

It depends on the person. You Liza are an original - so if someone asked if I met "Liza" I wouldn't ask do you mean lipglossjunkie. However, if someone asked if I met Jessica I would have to ask which one they were referring to (as in CaMacho, Ophelia or any of the others - I picked those two b/c I have met them!). Generally once I've met someone at a GTG I associate them with their real names.

People have called me Goldi for years. When I meet LIFers, I introduce myself as Leslie. It is simply what I prefer! I keep thinking that with a name like "Goldi", I should be eating an Entenmann's danish ring at my weekly Mah Jhong Game and frankly, I am too young for that mindset!
I try my best to use names when I can. I just cant get the Cindy and Kevin thing right. Which one is which again?
