No, the majority of the time people don’t live in the real world.
Let me tell you being on welfare isnt some free money party for the majority. We f#kn struggled, when you go on a 1hr train ride with your mom to the welfare office in the freezing cold for a scheduled meeting, wait for 2 hrs to be seen only for them to tell you are missing paperwork and have to go back home to go back and wait again. Then it happened again when we went back. My mother also gave up a child for adoption that really emotionally messed her up.
Don’t get me started on foster care and the systems. It’s truly sad, just looking around the waiting room when during my sons court hearings was a sad sight. These poor kids have a number assigned to them. We used to call the courthouse central baby booking.
It’s not black and white.
It is definitely not black and white which is why although I am very pro life for myself, I am pro choice for everyone else. However, I don't know anyone that got an abortion because of rape, incest, or even failed birth control. It is ALWAYS that they made a mistake - either they were young and didn't think they needed to use BC or they were drunk and made a mistake. All of these pregnancies were preventable.

Seriously sometimes this site makes me crazy. Please, PLEASE, show me where I wrote that. In FACT - I did write: I AM PRO CHOICE FOR EVERYONE ELSE. This is the problem with so many posters. You read what you want to read.....
But if you want to know my opinion, NO, no 16 year old should be forced to raise a child that they don't want. There are however other options, there is adoption. Again, not saying that every underage pregnant person should be forced to have and give away their baby because they made a mistake. THAT IS WHY I AM PRO CHOICE for others. However, I think that the problem is that we aren't giving people enough options and education. I think that everyone should have access to birth control and be educated about what can happen when you have unprotected sex. I find it sad when I see a squirrel run over in the street so I personally can't fathom aborting my own baby. I would feel a tremendous amount of guilt and in fact most of the people that I know that had abortions do live with an incredible, sometimes unbearable amount of guilt. I can't imagine what a burden it is to carry that around.

Please reread what I wrote. It has absolutely changed. Health of the mother is purposely loosely defined. It is no longer criminal to perform a late term abortion. Now all you need is to loosely define the mental health of the mother being at stake. Not her life. Just her mental well being. So now you are giving people a legal channel to do all of that shady stuff.
Why bother. The radical pro-abortion posts I’m reading on here go beyond “choice” and show they’ve been brainwashed to think their own “rights” are always most important. As well as naive to think there won’t be many more late term healthy babies needlessly killed because of people taking advantage of the phrasing of these laws... But according to a lot of the posts I’ve read on here, that’s still ok. They’re insisitng these laws are ONLY going to be used to help women who are sick & in need (opening the door to terminate healthy viable babies when delivering them alive would be just fine) or terminally ill babies..... yeah ok... Right.
They’ll complain about deporting children and sermonize compassion to kids, yet they would have supported murdering those SAME exact kids at any time before birth as an option. Hypocrisy.
They’ll say “how many kids have you adopted?” as though that’s a reason for discarding them instead... well, how many have YOU adopted? None?? Then you’re no better.
They’ll give their unborn babies names, have baby showers for them (oh but they’d never call it a “fetus shower”), and speak of them as people WHEN it serves their own purpose. Yet an equally well developed baby, if undesired by her mother, is just a nameless clump of cells... not a human with a beating heart & all body organs working yet just fine to be discarded as medical waste. Because somehow that healthy, well developed baby is still “my body & my choice”..Sad.
Then they’ll try to say that I’m the one with no conscience because I try to help these mothers through Bridge to Life and other programs to lift them up... I’m not “forcing” them to be mothers... there’s no FORCING of any sort... obviously if they want their abortion, they’re still free to go get it.
And these late-abortion supporters don’t want to be knowledgeable of the actual physical process...oh noooo, that’s just wayyy too distasteful to actually see or hear about!!!... stick head in the sand... but they’ll support it anyway. If you’re going to say something is OK with you, then you should KNOW how it’s done and the exact nature of the trauma to the mothers’ bodies AND babies’ bodies...and exactly what the act entails... how can you support something you choose to be ignorant of? Just because it’s done by a certified medical professional doesn’t mean you can just blindly trust that it’s all good.
The defenders don’t want to admit that women sometimes die during “safe” late or mid-term abortions... and that very rarely, a baby is born alive yet maimed after these procedures... do these children become “people” worth saving then? Clearly not, according to those supporting these laws that now take away protections from aborted babies born alive.
When you’re dealing with a twisted mindset that defends all this, they’re so far gone into their extreme liberal la la land that there’s no point. They’re the ones who’ve got to live with their truth. Good luck.

You started this thread with completely false information and now you're complaining that others are choosing to stick their heads in the sand and ignore facts. It's ridiculous. Just bc you watched a documentary about a horrible doctor who landed himself life in prison. Many of us choose to see the good it will do for moms who are already suffering and don't want to need the option but unfortunately they do.

I don't know anyone who has gotten an abortion due to failed BC but it does happen. So just because you and I don't know anyone then its not true? I do know people who's BC failed and I seen several posts on here about it happening.
Unfortunately, I have known people who were effected by the other scenarios. I guess I am not understanding your logic. It seems because you don't know of these cases than it doesn't happen?
Also most woman don't go around talking about their abortions like that, so there is a chance you may know someone.

On a side note: I've said this on other threads that have discussed abortion. I wish people would stop saying - Pro-Abortion. We are Pro-Choice. There is a difference. I don't think anyone is Pro-Abortion.

Meaning I’m 35 weeks pregnant. I walk in to my on and say I’m having bad thoughts. I want to kill my baby. Does the doctor just go ok. One abortion!
Or do they do exams. Get specialists etc

Yes, there would be a serious medical and psychological evaluation. A documented medical history. It couldn't be out of the blue and then magically you're given a late term abortion. That is not happening.
In terms of health, I spoke to a lawyer friend who mentioned that the world "health" is "broad in range so as to be loosely defined." In essence, it could be that there is no precedent. A situation in which "mother's health" hasn't arisen and there is no case-law by which to go. So it has to be all-encompassing in a way to allow the law the be interpreted for each specific case.
The mythical sister's best friend's uncle's girlfriend's stepdaughter who got 6 abortions is not going to be a given an abotion at 39w without MAJOR medical/psychological intervention and evaluation.

Ugh, seriously. You think we're out here handing out abortions like Oprah giving away cars. 
I refuse to even deign to READ an article that refers to anyone as pro-abortion since I know it's purposely inflammatory and most likely has few to no facts. Or at least no facts that I can't find on a site/article that states the facts in an unbiased way.

Stuff like this makes me sick.
But yeah this law is all about killing healthy babies at 8 or 9 months gestation.
Yeah. Because as women we are all sick in the head and can't be trusted to not use this law to end a pregnancy we don't want anymore at 8 months.
We need Congress to save us from ourselves.

Stuff like this makes me sick.
But yeah this law is all about killing healthy babies at 8 or 9 months gestation.
Yeah. Because as women we are all sick in the head and can't be trusted to not use this law to end a pregnancy we don't want anymore at 8 months.
We need Congress to save us from ourselves.
Not to mention all the medical professionals that are going to be lining up hospital hallways because the rooms are overbooked to perform endless due date abortions on otherwise healthy babies and "unstable" mothers because a law now says they can.

I wanted to die reading the part where she could feel him dying.
No one should have to live through that. No one should have told these people that they had to suffer through that experience and trauma.

It’s gut wrenching. I don’t understand how anyone can think this is ok, especially a woman? How do you read this and think yea this makes sense?
I’m all about people’s opnions and right to their beliefs but the state of Texas did make this poor couple suffer. It’s repuslive.

 My heart stopped while I was reading that. I cannot even imagine what they went through. Ugh. So upsetting.

I worked in a women's medical center and had these conversations everyday with women of all ages. This is always a heated topic and always has been and will always be.
I wish more men were open to vasectomies. Many men only think of themselves and what they might feel pain wise, not worrying about their wife, SO etc would have to endure physically and emotionally with making a choice such as this.
