Do you still support Trump?

OK, this is not meant for any drama (yeah, I know what you are thinking Chat Icon ) and I'd really just like to make this a no comment post, but could you answer the poll if you have ever supported or still support Trump, please?

And no, I didn't participate in this poll

Well he's always himself-- lol. This poll was just to get in the spirit for the Bethpage "rally."

Just curious about how this whole situation has developed. That's all.

I will never support someone who publicly (or even privately!) makes fun of someone with special needs. He is an disgrace. So no, I do not support him.

I see. I thought he did something else to cross the line. I'm stumped by the number of people that support him, then he'll go out and say something else stupid (like women should be punished if they have an abortion), and yet people still support him.

I imagine him sitting in his meeting room trying to come up with progressively stupid things to say to see where America's breaking point is. "Maybe if I say XXX, they'll finally catch on that I'm just joking. No? Ok, maybe if I say YYY they'll finally catch on. No? Hmmmm....."

Right! My Grandma and I were JUST talking about this! She lives in MI and said ALL of her elderly friends (80's!) are voting for him, and she can't understand why!

I skipped the poll because I knew I would never support him.

Slightly OT but did anyone see The Daily Show last night? Chat Icon If you have a daughter, first think about what your DH might say if he was asked to identify ways she's like you. Or what your dad might have said if he was asked this question about you and your mom.

Oh, I wish I could watch this! Copyright doesn't allow me to watch it. I'll have to go on a VPN to see it tomorrow, but he has had some good stuff.

For those that voted other, what is that? Or should I start another poll?

Just about the abortion thing: Trump was asked if a woman should be punished for abortion IF ABORTION WAS ILLEGAL. He didn't just randomly say that women who get abortions should be punished. He also changed his answer later and said that if abortion were illegal, the doctors performing them should be punished.

It's fine to disagree with him and his views. I just hate seeing things distorted.

I do not support Trump. But looking at his numbers and even the polls on here people are supporting him and continue to support him. Call him what you want, hes still ahead. Very scary but very true.

The people I know that support Trump do not necessarily like everything he says. However there are other issues besides his insults, things that are just more important to people, like the economy, terrorism, immigration, etc. It is difficult when you have such a gruesome group of candidates to choose from - I dont necessarily "support" any of them. To me, it is just as astounding that people support Hillary.

I was open to listening to him at the beginning but the further he went the worse he looked to me as a candidate.
He seems very unstable to me, I don't like his views on women AT ALL, they are downright disturbing, I don't like the mockery and I really don't think he has a firm understanding of global policy and issues facing the world today at the level a presidential candidate should. I also worry about his seemingly radical views on the security of our country, his immigration policies and how he would work together with our allies, who I for one would like to keep as allies.
Like many, I don't really care for ANY of the candidates but I'd place Trump at the bottom of the list.

Yes, it's astounding that anyone would support someone with so much foreign policy experience, is so respected by other nations, and who has actual intelligent plans. Totally blows my mind.

I don't either. Can you imagine the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES behaving in such a manner?! It's just so bizarre that ANYONE thinks his comments are okay! Special needs aside, but ALL the derogatory comments he makes!

I respectfully disagree that his response was logical and inevitable.

That comment gave him an opportunity to say something like "While I am against abortion, I don't believe that punishment under the law is the appropriate response" or something like that.

Instead he said what he thought people wanted to hear and it backfired on him.

He's despicable - in so many ways.

I pray that this man does NOT get elected into office. PRAY!!!!! I seriously fear for the this country if that man is running things. He is SO self serving that I cannot believe that anyone in this country actually thinks this man would be working in THEIR best interest. He just cares about protecting his own interests, not the "little guy" working hard and doing his thing.

He has no experience, he is a blow hard, arrogant, obnoxious piece of trash that resorts to mean playground tactics to intimidate people. Some of the things that fly out of his mouth are just so unreal!!!!................he has NO filter. How can you respect someone who says the things he does? WHY would you want someone like him as the "voice of our country"??

I don't LOVE the other candidates but I would take ANY one of them over Trump, I think he will drive this country into the ground. Chat Icon

And I'm sure that the people supporting Trump, despite the ignorant and hateful comments, are the same ones that are up in arms bc Obama didn't salute someone or bc he didn't wear a flag pin. Nice to know where they draw the line in the sand. Chat Icon

I find it also EXTREMELY troubling that he says one thing and then hours later says something else. He appears to give no serious thought to issues which is terrifying.

Let's be real. He only flip flopped on his answer because republicans and democrats both condemned what he said. He also said that the men who are also responsible for these unplanned pregnancies should not be punished. To me, that is worse than saying women should be punished if abortion was illegal. More misogynist bs.

Yep. I am ok with a politician changing position- after time has passed. To me it shows they put actual thought into where they stand. But when it's a few hours later? It shows a lack of preparation on his part which is ridiculous- running as a Republican he had to know abortion is a hot button issue for his party. And to me it appears he had not thought about it. To me it seems like he didn't think about most of his positions. They are all knee jerk reactions and he is thus unfit to be President.

I just wanted to shed some light on this topic from what I've seen. When he says crazy things and then later changes his response, he gains more support. It shows he's obviously not a career politician just saying the things that people want to hear. That's what his supporters like about him. To them he's a regular guy who just happens to have tons of $$.

Totally separate subject regarding the candidates:
I just can't get on board with anyone that doesn't support women's rights. Anyone that thinks there's no way we can lose our rights is living in a dream world. Maybe not in NY but in other states, the reality is that they are slowing trying to take away women's rights. OK, maybe they won't overturn Roe vs Wade, but they are making the laws so strict that clinics are closing and women that want the right to choose, can't obtain the services they need to do so. It leaves them with no choice and when states not only allow it, but are making the laws that put women in that situation, that should be considered a crime against women.
