If your family lives out of state
How often do you see your family if they are from out of state? My parents live in Maryland and we see them for major holidays (thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter) and a few other times adding up to maybe 6 or 7 times a year. Wondering how that compares.

My husbands parents live up in southern Maine. We see for most holidays if not every other month, prob be same about 6-7x a year but we spend a week in summer and almost week during Christmas.

My parents live in florida, we try to see them for a full week 2x a year =( wish it were more!!

We live 3 hours from my parents and my ILs. Of course, they are in opposite directions. We see both sides probably every 4-6 weeks. So I guess 9-12 times a year. My ILs make a conscious effort to see us. My parents not so much as my dad refuses to stay at our house overnight, which means only day trips are possible. I'd like to add that we have a dedicated guest room with a queen size bed and a semi private bathroom.....

We live in VA and my parents and my ILs are all in NY. The past 2 years we only get up to NY 3x a year for visits because of our work schedules. Prior to my current job I was able to visit almost every month. I'd love to get back to that schedule. My parents and ILs each come down to visit about 6x a year. So total I guess we see them 9-10 times a year.

My in laws live in Cape Cod. They try to visit usually once a month now that they're retired. Before that it was around every other month.

1x every two years. They don't travel and where they moved to is expensive to travel to. It's sad as dd doesn't know her grandparents

I am the Grandma, my son and his family live in Virginia, in the DC area. We see them on average once a month. My younger DS just moved to DC from Buffalo. When he lived in Buffalo, we saw him probably 5-6 times a year. In the last 2 months since he moved to DC, we've seen him 4 times.

My dad and his wife live in NC and we usually see them twice a year. We usually go down there once a year for a full week and they usually come up here for Christmas.

MIL comes to Texas every 2-3 month's. SIL twice a year. My sister once a year. We try to make it back home at least twice a year.

my father lives out of state. Fortunately he travels to NY for business once every 6-8 weeks so we see him for dinner one night every 6-8 weeks. His wife though doesnt travel with him, so we only see her when we do an annual trip to his house.

My family is also in MD. I'm way far out on the island, so it is usually 5-6 hours drive. I'm a teacher so I go down 2 weeks in summer and a week at Christmas. We don;t do Thanksgiving together. They come up a lot though. They are both retired so they come up at least once a month, and more for events.

We see my family maybe 3-4x a year but since my DH works most holidays it really revolves around his days off, not major holidays. We travel to them 2x a year, they come to us 2x a year.
His parent have been to see us maybe 3x in the 4 years since we moved... his sister has come only once.
