West Islip, where I grew up. I'm a south shore girl at heart.

I would love to live in Patchogue. It's not snooty and pretentious. It has elements of urban and rural life, and I think it's an up and coming place. It's a diverse community. The properties are large. There's plenty to do, and the residents really seem to have pride in their community.
Unfortunately, it's too far away from my family, so it won't happen.

We live in Whitestone but if I had to move to Nassau or Suffolk it would be Manhasset for commuting purposes, if work were not an issue somewhere on the north fork near a vineyard lol

I'd stick with where we are now. Sayville. Love it! Cute town, cute beaches and parks. For me its in a perfect spot on the Island. Just out enough where the traffic isn't crazy like Nassau and not too far out where you have to take a long drive to get anywhere. I'm originally from Massapequa and any time I get out that way the traffic on Sunrise makes me nuts.

If I won the lottery and didn't have to work I would move to Sag Harbor or similar.

Anywhere north of 25a between 110 and 112...love all the towns and the north shore. I don't think there is one SD that I would avoid either.

Re: If you could live and raise your family in any town on Long Island, which would it be and why?
My hometown was Huntington. My family and I relocated to another state, but we would never want to choose to move back to Long Island. If we had to, I'd choose Northport.

I think this question will differ depending on where you grew up or spend your time. If I were to stay on LI, I would love the Bayport/Bluepoint area. Or Sayville. But I have never been to so many areas of LI. So i am sure there is somewhere i would probably like better, I just grew up in Suffolk. So I am familiar with what I see here.
