Talk to me about coxsackie!

How long did it last for your DC? If you have 2 kids, did the sibling get it? DD has it and I'm afraid DS will get it. She's only 13 months and touches EVERYTHING. I'm overwhelmed thinking about how I will keep everything clean enough for him to not get it. Tips?

IMO if they get it they get it. It's so common in the summer and kids much younger than 13 months get it.

DS was 10 months when he had it. It went around his daycare, and all but two kids in the whole place wound up getting it. I would say just try to keep them separated as much as you can, wash their hands, and wipe down surfaces.

I'm in the same boat! We found out yesterday that ds has coxsackie. He is 22 months and I have an I month old also. She is crawling and touches and mouths everything! I'm trying to keep them and their toys separate but I'm pretty sure she will get it anyway!

my niece just was diagnosed and now DD#1 (24mo) had a 103.9 fever and just threw up. They were together for 4 days and I am guessing thats what shes going to have.

My only concern is that I have a 3 mo old and how do i keep her safe and healthy.?Shes supposed to start Daycare on tuesday and I hear this is going around.

Well I know now it's very contagious. Both my kids have it and my poor 3 months old Is so helpless.

My older one now has sores in her mouth and throat and is inconsolable and the meds seem to wear off so quick. I just hope my little one doesn't get it that bad. My heart is breaking for these little ones. I got this as an adult and I remember this was the same or worse than how I felt with the flu. Now she's in our bed finally calmed down.

Worst 5 days of my life. Two days of fever, then the sores and drooling appeared. He had sores on th roof of his mouth, on his cheeks, down his throat, all over hai cheeks and outside of his mouth, on his arms, legs, bottoms of his feet, on his Tush and penis.....ugh....

The crying when he tried to eat or drink was heartbreaking and the wailing in he middle of the night bc he was hungry from not eating was awful. That lasted another 2 days. He started to turn the corner on day 5 and would at least drink something. By day 6 was eating and sleeping though again. Went back to daycare on day 7.

It is very contagious. 8 out of 11 kids in his daycare class had it. It was in every room of the daycare. Not sure you can avoid it.

DD had a high fever Thursday of last week (104) blisters came out in her mouth/tongue/throat Friday. Its Monday and she is almost 100% back to normal but I think it was a more mild case.

No blisters on her hands or feet! Two on her face (one on lip, one on cheek) otherwise everything was contained to inside her mouth.
