Definitely A. The vacation time, the flexibility, the seniority...I know 40k sounds like a lot, but I don't think the $$ outweighs the benefits of Job A.

This. I wanted to leave my job 2 years ago because of my commute but i'm so glad i didnt. Now that i have my 2nd child i am so thankful i have the flexibility that i do. I also work from home 1 day a week and have flexible hours, plus the pay is great and i get 4 weeks vacation. I have had to take a lot more time off since DS (10months) has had a lot more health issues than DD (4 years) did. My bosses are understanding and get it since they are parents as well. They let me work from home if the kids are sick, or if they have Dr appts.
Being comfortable is very important especially if you want to try for another. You need that flexibility. Unless you absolutely need that extra $40k i would stay where you are. Good luck!

Without a doubt, Option A, for all the reasons the previous posters stated about work-life balance, but beyond that, if you do the simple math, it just doesn't work out to be such a great opportunity.
Think about it this way.
In your current job, you make $100,000, working 40 hrs a week for 47 weeks (5 weeks vacation)
In your new job, you will be making $140,000, working 50 hrs a week for 50 weeks.
$100,000/(40 hrs*47 weeks) = $53.16/hr
$140,000/(50 hrs*50 weeks) = $56/hr
so, you are really making less than $3/hr more and risking the current stability you have, the flexibility, the repoire with your manager, and most of all your lifestyle.
And, then if you look at benefits, healthcare, 401k contributions, commute, etc., you may even be making less at the end of the day.
so, unless there was some career opportunity that this new job gives you that would significantly advance your career in the long run, absolutely not.

That plus, you've already decided that you aren't going to travel with your current job... And have thus passed up an opportunity for advancement at the expense of time with your family.

Hands down for me job A!
As a FTWM with one toddler and another child on the way I already feel like I miss out on A LOT with DS, I can't imagine with 2!
To me you will never get these years back with your children, they are precious years.
Unfortunately, some people have to work - like myself. I have no choice. So I would choose the job that gave me the most time during the week with my chidren.

Thanks everyone for all the feedback.
Just writing out my thoughts in my original post helped me to have clarity. After I wrote it and read it back, I was like, "Duh! What's your issue?" It's easy to get caught up in the idea that more $$$ equals more success. But I feel like being able to balance work and motherhood happily is my true meaning of success right now. And I do realize how lucky I am to have a job that's allowing me to have this balance and still make a nice salary.
I did get really excited when thinking about this job and a small part of me wishes I was in a position to go for it. Before having a daughter it would have been a dream opportunity, but what I really want now is time with my kid. She leaned into me for a kiss for the first time last night—that was worth 40K right there!
So for right now, I'm staying put.

I am so glad you posted this. I am currently in the same situation (almost exactly!) and I have been really struggling with the decision. Based upon everyone's unanimous opinions and perspectives on here, I have clarity.
It's just so hard to put the career envisioned and your personal aspirations on the back burner during these formative years but I know I would truly regret missing out on DS childhood later on.
