[XPOST] Protest at Smith Haven Mall this Saturday
In front of John Harvard's brewery, on the corner of 347 and Moriches Road, between 12-5pm.

Why are pet stores bad? What is a puppy mill?
I can't make the protest, what else can I do?
Educate yourself and others about the harm of puppy mills, pet stores and backyard breeders. Support organizations like Guardians of Rescue by sharing their 5/24/13 post on your Facebook timeline:

Ok Here we go! Let's try to make a dent and educate the public as to where puppy stores get their puppies!!!! AGAIN!!! American Dog Club has opened it's doors at Simon Malls in Lake Grove, NY. From what we are told, Mr. Gordon insists his puppies do not come from puppy mills. We disagree vehemently and have USDA papers telling me otherwise! Not to mention some puppy mills with multiple violations, including Circle B Farms-Bill Clarke, Kenna Kennels and the infamous Judy Gray who's blatant neglect and abuse are incomprehensible. So what's the best way for a companion animal lover to get tan this summer? PROTESTING! 12-5 ON THE SIDEWALK BY JOHN HARVARDS RESTAURANT. PLEASE SHARE...PLEASE CARE...PLEASE BE THERE!...THE ANIMALS DEPEND ON YOU!

Just went to the Smith Haven Mall page, they removed my post from this morning 
All I said was that people who wanted more information about the pet store should message me. I wonder if they know about the protest yet.
Smithtown Patch has confirmed they're going to look into it as a news story. Hopefully they do.

I would love to go but I have work on Saturday. I have been spreading the word to family and friends though. Hopefully with the nice weather thats expected, there will be a big turnout!

I posted the information on facebook and tagged sachem patch again hoping they will send someone out to cover the story.
I also shared with my photo group and told anyone interested to come with me... I'm going to take pictures while I'm there and then tag the heck out of them on facebook and hope as many people on the island see as possible.

Are you making a sign? I was thinking about going to Michaels tonight and making one but I have no idea what to put on it or how to make it.

Does anyone think this man (Assemblyman Andrew Raia) would be interested and help somehow? I would imagine he would not approve of pet stores.

How did it go today?
Lots of people honked their horns when they saw our signs, some people asked questions. Lots of thumbs ups and waves. I'd say maybe about 20 people were there.
I think the best part was when someone in a little BMW sports car drove by and honked with the biggest fluffiest dog I've ever seen in the front seat. It looked like a polar bear.
