high fevers.. any advice

Any advice would be appreciated. DS has had fevers , cough/phlegm since sunday. Today as high as 104. We took him to ped... no ear inf, no throat inf. Most likely viral. We've been alternating tylenol/motrin and keep the humidifier on at night. Ped said if fever persists till friday to bring him in again. Would you wait? Or bring them to the hospital? He is drinking most of his milk and water. No food. Someone suggested to bring him to the hospital tomorrow and do blood work to r/o bacteria.

Ds had fever of 103 with cold symptoms and it ended up as pneumonia.

DS had the same thing a few weeks ago. He was at the pedi 2X. Both times his ears, throat, and lungs were clear. They did blood work on the 2nd visit which also came back fine. He wouldn't eat anything and would only drink milk. After 3 days his fever broke. But on day 4 it went back up to 104. Off to the ER we went for a chest xray.... Clear... He ended up having a raging ear infection by that point though.. He got a shot of penicillin and with in 24 hours, he was so much better... As long as they are staying hydrated, I would avoid the ER.. Try PM Peds.....

Dd had high fevers this time last year (104-105) I took her to the ped no ear/throat/chest infections. A few days later she broke out in a rash turned out to be roseola.

Were the fevers this high? If they've been this high I may bring DC to the hospital. DD had fevers for 3 days but they gradually decreased. But for you this is four days of high fevers. I'd want it checked out thoroughly.
