Anyone Planning On...
jumping back into TTC as soon as this baby is born?
I was just talking with my friend (who is also pregnant and due right before me) and I think I'm going to start TTC immediately.
DD is going to be 6 years older than this baby and at this point she's self-sufficient. It's nice that she is old enough to help and enjoy the journey to big-sisterhood but I never intended on them being so far apart in age.
I'm thinking that since I'm not done having kids and I'm not getting any younger AND it took sooooo long to get pregnant this time that DH and I should start right away. I'd like to have a continuous stream of diapers and potty training this time
Anyone else feeling the same way?

Re: Anyone Planning On...
Me!!! DH and I are 35 and having our 1st. Although I still feel young, I would like to be done having kids by 40. Originally, I was thinking I would have to wait a yr or so for DH to want to TTC again but he recently surprised me by suggesting we try to get preggo again right away. Of course, we will have to see how we feel once the babes is actually here but I have a feeling we will go for it.

What a nice surprise!!! I didn't tell DH yet.\, lol. He doesn't need to know. It won't matter to him if I get pregnant right after, lol. I know that must sound terrible of me

Nope def doesn't sound terrible. Sometimes we need to take matters into our own hands when our wonderful DH's just don't see things the way we do.

and even with If issues..stranger things have happened so we are being careful. The twins will be backup birth control to a real birth control method.

Re: Anyone Planning On...
My dh wants to! I tell him he needs to find another wife than! My body needs time to recover from this pregnancy and csection. I'll have 2 under 2. I don't think we need 3 under 3. I want to wait until my oldest is in kindergarten.

Depends - - if this one is a boy - we'll be TTCing shortly after this one. If this one is a girl - I say yes, DH says no.

At this moment, I want to wait until this DS is 3, but I don't think DH would want to wait that long... He's probably more for another in 2 yrs

Re: Anyone Planning On...
I'm not a doctor, but just talk to your doctor about the timing and what's safest. My OB was talking about the risks of preterm labor because I'd just had a baby a year earlier, and my babies are going to be 21 months apart! You just want to make sure you're ok -- there are some risks to having another right away because your uterus and your body doesn't have a chance to recover and regroup after the first. I think they suggest waiting a minimum of 6 months to get pregnant again. That's certainly not to say many women don't get pregnant sooner than that. But if you have any sort of choice or can plan, it might be worthwhile doing what's healthiest to insure both you and the baby will be ok.
That said, I've gotta say it's great that DD is (1) STTN a solid 12-13 hours right now and (2) can walk. I'm not sure how I'd be handling this pregnancy if those two things weren't true. (DD didn't go more than 10 hours overnight until 10.5 m... I don't know if I could've gone 2 years straight without sleeping!!!)

Definitely good advice, however it took me 4.5 years to get pregnant again after DD so I really don't care if it happens a month after I give birth to this one because chances are it's going to take me a while. That's why I would start right away.

Nope. DD and this baby will be 2 years apart. That's plenty for now. If we go for a third, it won't be for a few years.

Can I ask - did you literally just DTD for 4.5 years and finally get pregnant?
It took 3 years of TTC this baby (DC #2) for us but we did lots of fertility stuff along the way - ended up getting pg through IVF. Just wondering if it's really possible to just keep on trying the old fashioned way and it finally work!
As for our plans, I'm almost sure I'd like to try for a 3rd, so we will probably not be careful right away and see what happens. I do have three frozen embryos - not sure at what point we'd start that up again, though (I won't do any more fertility treatments other than transferring the frozens - if it doesn't work, I'll either keep trying on our own or just be content with the 2!).

We tried the old fashion way at first and did that for 9 months. At my annual I mentioned it to my OBGYN that it was taking longer than I thought, he sent me and DH to an RE.
I saw the RE for about a year and a half until DH lost his job and we lost our insurance. They had determind that DH had low testosterone/low sperm count and I had all the bloodwork and irregular cycles of someone with PCOS without the cysts. I was rarely ovulating. They also found that I had a slow thyroid.
I was on tons of different meds but they couldn't seem to fix my problem. I was also very overweight. Like 100 lbs.
So after our insurance was gone we went about trying/but not trying and I lost 55 lbs. and was taking synthroid.
We kept saying that when we had the money we'd go back and pick up where we left off and try IVF.
Then one day it just happened
Hope that answered your question.

Re: Anyone Planning On...
For the woman who brought up waiting at least 6 months it also depends on how you gave birth csection vs vaginal... But its not only for the womens safety and health but for the safety and health of the 2nd baby. There have been studies showing an increase in babies born with autism and developmental delays when women got prggos right after giving birth... Its just somethimg to look into.
