pacifier help for a 2-month old

i can NOT for the love of god get my DC to keep a paci in their mouths. we have the soothies from the hospital and i have to hold it in.

any other recs? shouldn't they be able to hold a pacifier in at 2-months old?

if we use tome tippe bottles, should i use those pacifiers?
i'll buy and try anything bc when i hold it in the eyes flutter and they fall asleep.

ETA - my LO uses a wubanub. it has a soothie attached to it.

Get a wubbanub! They are little stuffed animals with the pacifier attached. Kind of weighs it down and helps the baby keep the paci in their mouths. They sell them at BBB

I found the most success with avent and MAM pacis. They create sort of a suction around the mouth the help hold it in. I'd try MAM first.

DD will only take NUK and even then she wouldn't take it until about 8 weeks.

DD refused the binky for months. I always tried giving her the soothies. One day I tried giving her a Nuk and she took it right away. Not sure if it was because she was older or if it's the binky itself. Now she'll ONLY use Nuk binkys.

Def. get this. I had my mom get me one 2 days after DD got out of this hospital (she was in NICU for a week). I begged her to stop at BBB on the way over and pick one up!! Worked great! They now also carry it at BRU.

Thanks for this post!!!! My 3 month old has problems keeping it in, especially at night so hopefully this will help.

btw- they sell it on amazon too. If you have amazon mom, you get it in 2 days for free through prime. Chat Icon

MY DS wouldn't keep it in most of the time.....I never did anything to keep it in and if I had free had I would just hold it in....now at 4 months he hates pacifiers and I am not even tryign other brands cause it is one less thing I have to break him of later on.

Same here! We tried the round binkies (I dont know their name) for a month, he kept spitting it out. Then when we tried the Nuk he was able to hold it in his mouth and fall asleep with it, without me having to hold it in there!

OMG! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! For the last few weeks I have been getting up in the middle of the night to give DD her paci when if falls out of her mouth. This could be the answer to our prayers. I'm ordering half a dozen right now. Chat Icon

Re: pacifier help for a 2-month old

My DS doesn't keep them in his mouth either and I don't really push it. I just offer and he could take it or leave it. We've used soothies and Nuk. Same results.

Question.. Why push the binky? Does it help them sleep more? No judgement, just a FTM question.

me too. I am happy he won't take to it. I see his cousin at almost 3 having such a hard time getting off it it.

good luck to op though, we tried a whole bunch and none took.
