How are you feeling?

Do you ever feel like telling people the truth when they ask you this question?

Something like....

"Well, to be honest, I'm exhausted and feeling pretty cranky today. I'm sweating like a meatball even though everyone else is freezing and all I feel like doing is eating a big bowl of ice cream and a chocolate brownie."

I wonder what they'd say if I answered honestly....

Oh god I get this all the time. If i answered everyone honestly i have a list of things that I can share with them such as terrible discharge, hemmrhoids from hell, back pain, the list goes on and on, Instead i say im feeling great

Crashing because this made me laugh.
It never bothered me until the end of my pregnancy. Because it was a few days until my due date, I was swollen as an elephant, uncomfy etc and EVERYONE kept asking me that question.
I remember the day before I went into labor my SIL texted me asking how I was feeling and I flung the cell phone across the room and screamed "I feel like SHIT ok? I feel like FLUCKING SHIT!!!!"

DH just kind of looked at me in a scared way and walked out!

I always answer "hanging in..." I refuse to say great or even good, because truth is, i feel like crap, my grandma died last week, i needed a mole removed from my ear that they didn't want to wait until after I had DS to remove because it needed to be biopsied, and they wound up cutting off a big part of my ear, it hurts like h#$ll and I can't take the super pain killers because of being PG so I have to settle for tylenol and then see I have to settle for generic because stupid tylenol doesnt make tylenol anymore!!!!!

I have learned to smile to much it hurts my face when inside I'm like "you had x amount of kids, you know I feel like shit"

I swear I get asked this question 10 times a day at work! I will be 20 weeks on Thursday, and thank g-d, I am actually feeling well, aside from being tired, so it's easy for me to answer honestly. The funny thing is that it seems like people are expecting complaints. I get a lot of, "you're not nauseous, getting sick?"

I'm asked all the time! And I tell the truth! I'm tired, cranky and ready. And when I am at work (even though its just part-time), I tell them I can't wait until I don't have to come in anymore I told my male boss yesterday that it was a huge chore to put on socks... I am not wearing socks today!

LOL I answer honestly most of the time an provide them with my current ailments... Hey, they asked!

And then just yesterday I have this woman say to me "Oh, if you think thats bad now, just wait until the end" Um, yea, thanks for the advice...

I always answered honestly. My pregnancy was horrible and there was no hiding it. It was written all over my face

I answer honestly. I say, I'm terrible and miserable and feel like crap today thanks for asking. I'll say things about throwing up or being annoyed at how I have become smellier than my husband. If they ask, then they are going to hear the truth. I don't talk about it openly with just anyone, but I am not going to lie because pregnancy has not been fun for me yet.

I tell them the truth.... that I have NEVER been this tired in my whole life and I feel like I can sleep for days. I usually get the smile, knowing glances, followed by a horror story of something that happened to them.

I always say that I feel great. I really just don't want to talk about it so I just try to change the subject. The funny thing is when people come up to my DH and say wow your wife is so lucky she has had the easiest pregnancies and is always feeling great. He looks at them with this puzzled look. Like she didn't tell you that she has chronic sinusitis during pregnancy which causes her to feel nasueaus and dizzy and not sleep for 9 months, didn't think that was the "easiest" pregnancy gets!

I try to come up with different fun stuff that they may not be expecting to see their expressions/reactions:

How are you feeling?

"Hungry. ALWAYS hungry."

"Like I really want a beer."

"Pregnant. Very Pregnant."

"Like she's trying to come out of my belly button"

But if I'm feeling like crap and tired of people asking... that's when I say I feel "great!" because I can't be bothered to come up with something fun or clever.

I try to be positive but with certain people especially my closest friends I just let it all out.

I get asked this question by every single person I pass in the hallway at work.

"Hey! How are you feeling?"

I just smile and say "Good."

then I go home and complain to DH how crappy I feel

nausea..hunger...nausea....hunger...nausea...hunger... etc etc...thats how I am feeling today!

SOOO tired!! Had 3 hr gt today. I'm now planted on my couch since dds napping. I wish I was getting a prenatal massage today.
