hunger strike in DS who is 23 months.
DS flat out refuses to eat breakfast or lunch mo matter what I offer him. This has been going on for at least 3 weeks now.
To make matters worse, he is so cranky bc of the lack of food. He will eat a good dinner though. Why could he be doing this? Anyone else experience this?

DS went through a similar phase in June-July. All he wanted was milk in a bottle (we were trying to wean him off).
I even took him to the ped and feared he was losing too much weight, etc. The ped said that it's a phase and he will eat when he's hungry and he's not worried as long as he's drinking and staying hydrated.
The phase lasted about 2 months. and he's eating regularly again.

Glad to see I am not alone. I told DH last night I thought DS was losing weight bc his shorts are becoming big on him.
Anyone else deal with this in the past?

DD definitely cut down on her each recently (she's 25 months old) I attribute it to teething.

must be the age. i am going through this now with DS who is 22 months. i dont know why I bother preparing breakfast and lunch somedays. But he would drink a gallon of milk if I let him

That is the same here. He would drink all day if i let. him. I started to make smoothies for him so he dinks something nutriousI refuse to make him stuff he is
Going to throw out.

We went through something similar about 2 months ago after DS was sick. It turns out that he was constipated and I had no idea as he was still pooping 1 x day. Even though he was pooping it wasn't enough and so he literally didn't have room for more food. He'd also only eat 1 meal per day and would refuse almost everything else or take 2 bites and be done, even things he loved. Breakfast though he'd eat the entire thing.
This went on for 2 weeks before I had an answer about what was going on. Ped ordered an x-ray and then GI doc recommended treatment. He lost 1.5 lbs. He had always been a great eater so it didn't make sense to me. My gut told me something was off and it wasn't a phase though.
Just throwing this out there just in case. I would have never guessed that this is what was making my DS not eat.
