Simple Human garbage cans

What's the big deal with them that they cost so much??

Are they worth it?

Also do the round ones need special bags? I knew someone who had one and they said they have to use special bags.

ETA: The person with the special bags had a semi circle shaped can.

i really like mine. its very sturdy and looks great, esp since we are doing all stainless appliances in the kitchen. i cant picture having to replace it for a very long time. i got it at bbb w a coupon but it was still pricey, but i think worth it. mine is circular and says it needs special bags, but i use regular ones and they work fine.

We got one, the semi round one, and we got it as a gift for moving into our first home...even tho we rent.. LOL. But, it is def nice. They do take special bags...but honestly when we didn't make a trip to BBB and ran out normal bags fit completely fine. I can see that can lasting a very long time, and I love how the bag doesn't show at all...like others do.

We have the semi-circle and use reg bags... no biggie... Thats why they make that hole in the back to stuff in the excess of the bag! I actually dont care for it that much... maybe its the shape... I feel like we are always changing the bags and its just the 2 of us here

we have a rectangular one (more square than rectangular though). use regular bags. LOVE IT so much. we've had it for about 2.5 or 3 years now and it still looks perfect. and my DH is not careful with things.

We have the rectangle one in our kitchen and use regular bags. I like it, it's sturdy, the lid stays on and it looks good.

We have a little round one in our main bathroom that I do buy the special bags for just because they fit better than shopping bags.

I had a round one - it was very nice we had for a few years - lost in it in our last move

it could take regular bags or the simple humand bags - i used the simple humanbags because they fit down the garbage shoot better

it was easy to open and looked nice but i don't think i would be quick to buy another one because of price

Dont laugh, its a Christmas gift for my Mother. She is getting a few other "nice" things too but she has this ratty garbage can and it bugs me to no end, she never has enough space in it. She would never splurge on a garbage can but a foot pedal is really helpful on a GC. I looked at the Target ones which are much more reasonable for a garbage can but they seem so junky - no inner plastic can inside the metal. But the SH price keeps making me want to check that they are worth the $$. Thank you for the replies.

I have the semi round one, and I like it. We use the regulary bags, and use the little hole in the back for excess baggage. It is probably one of the nicer garbage cans out there.

I LOVE mine- we have a slim one & use regular garbage bags. I change the garbage 1x a week with myself, DH, & DS in the house.

I also have the semi round and use regular bags. We're happy with it! We got it as a shower gift nearly 3 years ago.

I have the round one (not simple human but a similar one) and I just use regular bags and tuck them. Because they have the bin inside you don't see the excess on the top. I like them for that reason and because you can take the bin out (it's plastic) and spray it with the hose if it get yucky.

I have the rectangle one ans we have always used the standard size bags (Kirkland brand). I love that the bag doesn't show when the lid is closed
If you are looking for SH brand, I have seen them at Homegoods and Marshalls for a LOT less than BBB. Otherwise, I have seen similar ones at Target (I didn't look too closely at them to see the quality)

I hate it!

We have the round one and pulling the bag through that hole to keep it tight and the bag not drooping over the edges is sooo annoying


and we barely put anything in it and it gets stcuk and is a PITA to get out.

I don't have Simple Human but I have a Brabantia. Got it at Ace Hardware. I like it. Cheaper than Simple Human I belive too!

We have the semi circle one and use regular Glad bags and tuck the excess in the hole on the back. We've had it for a few years will no issues at all. I do feel like they fill faster but I don't mind because it leaves room to add bedroom/bathroom garbages in when it's time to take out.
