to find out more information. You can sign a pledge and send a pre-prepared email to various companies to urge them to guarantee that their products are not made with slave labor.

According to the show today, children from around the world as young as 6 are being kidnapped or sold (sometimes by their parents), gang-raped and beaten into submission, and then held captive in brothels where they are forced to work as prostitutes. This is happening around the world and in the United States.

They also mentioned that vulnerable children are being lured in internet chat rooms and Craigslist. Runaways, abused, and neglected children are especially at risk.

Although this isn't new information, I hadn't heard of this organization before. Please spend a few minutes looking at the site and participating.

You can also call or email your Congresspeople to urge them to pass this bill before they take a recess for the November elections:
The TVPRA: the Victims' Protection Reauthorizaion Amendment.

This bill would provide shelter, trauma counselilng, and education for the victims, plus additional tools to help bring human traffickers to justice.
