COD Oil
Please explain to me how this works... We have only used oil once, and the company we used last year was waaay to expensive, and just can't deal with it again. So... please fill me in on how COD usally works. We plan on calling around to find the cheapest one...
So do we pay over the phone in full before they come? Do we get a bill and have a set amount of time to pay it? Do they charge a devivery fee also, or if it's lets say $3 a gallon, and you get 100 gallons, is it just a flat $300?? Do you get a discount if you pay cash when they come?
I know it all sounds so simple, but again, we are soo new to oil delivery LOL.

go to Codfuel.com and put in your zip code- it gives you all of the prices for COD in you area and the different rates for cash vs. credit card.
You can also choose how many gallons you want, or have them fill it up (then you'll just find out the total at the time that they fill it up).
Cash is generally cheaper, but you need to make sure someone is home for the delivery (and that you have the total amount on hand). It usually pays off, though.

last year we had oil and no contract- i would use the sight posted and then call and see if what was cheaper - some were the same price or a cent more for a credit card - so ichose those because it was easier then being home
i always negotiated on the the amount of oil i wanted- i always asked for a set amount of gallons - easier for me to plan and never paid a delivery fee - but i always compared the prices to be even a $10 delivery fee on oil 10 cents cheaper can work out better when orderign 200 gallons
definely use the sight to narrow down and then start calling

No, they dont. And once you fill out everything online; the site calculates it for you. Example: $3.00 @ 120 gallons gives you the amount including tax. The amount shown is the exact amount that will be charged. No hidden fees.
Although, some will charge you an added fee if you request same day delivery but I never opt for that.
