So, I've been reading this forum in anticipation of closing on my home in L.I. I "supposedly" closed last Tuesday but this has been the deal (during final walk through noticed that all pipes in basement were stolen and bank didn't want to pay for the repair) from hell since we've been dealing with an REO property.
It's safe to say that I FINALLY closed today and will begin my journey of caring for a home that was not being taken care of.
I will update the forum - not sure if I can use the same post - with my stats and progress on this project that I'm sure is going to take 3-5 months to complete.

Thanks for all the welcome responses. Inside is a dump but I will take before pics as well and post once I get a darn battery charger for my digital camera..lol.

Okay. So, let me explain what happen. After, I posted that I closed on the house in the picture I receive a call from my lawyer indicating that the bank doesn't want to signed the final HUD agreement and that the money has been returned! 
As I explained previously, this was a REO property so the seller wasn't at the closing and we were doing all paperwork at my lawyer's office and had to fed-ex the forms that needed to be signed to California.
Well, it took another 10 days - I stayed away from this post because of what happened - for the darn house to close! I honestly almost lost my mind and was ready to walk away from the deal but cooler heads prevailed.
The work has yet to start but I do have a few more pics of inside the house to share...

Wow I can't wait to see the transformation!! That house is amazing. As a sidenote - my dad has the same bi-fold door leading from his DR to his kitchen
