PNP Changing area

We have the PNP set up in the living room downstairs. DD will nap in the PNP during the day and we use the changing station to do quick diaper changes, rather than taking her upstairs every time. Right now we still using the bassinet area since DD is under 15lbs, but she's getting close.

Question is when you took out the bassinet area did you still use the changing thing? I can't imagine still using the changing part if the bassinet thing still isn't there. I would never leave her alone on there, but if something happened there will be so much of a drop!

Am I thinking about this too much?

I still use it without the bassinet. It's good up until 25lbs.

ETA - I have the Chicco one - i'm not sure of the weight limit on the Graco one.

Re: PNP Changing area

I realize the changing part is up to 25 pounds.

My issue is when she can roll over, without that bassinet insert in there, I don't feel comfortable because it could be a big drop! KWIM?

Like I said in the OP, I would never leave her there, but anything could happen.

Re: PNP Changing area

I use the changing part still without the bassinet. I am not worried about them falling because I am always right there. Same thing can be said about a regular changing table too!

this is an issue no matter what changing table you use... you should never leave them unattended so this doesnt happen

Re: PNP Changing area

Ok, so you guys don't think I am an idiot... I would never leave her unattended on a changing table or anywhere that she could fall from.

My issue with the PNP changing thing is that it's like a platform that almost seems to hang over an open space. It's held up by 2 poles on one side, it's not supported on all 4 corners. But I guess that is also why the weight limit is 25 pounds...

If anything I am being over protective, not looking for something that I can put her on and leave her somewhere.

Mine was supported the same way as yours and as soon as I took the bassinet part out, I didn't feel comfortable putting DS in the changing station part because like you said, it wasn't supported on all 4 corners and it made me nervous (despite the weight limit). I was scared it would tip over with DS in it, the two poles would bend, etc. I just started using a changing pad on the floor instead.
