9/23 UPDATE: My Dr wants to see me tonight! Should I call my Dr or this typical of pregnancies?

I went to pick up my dog (~10 lbs) last night and I developed a huge pain/cramp in my left side. The cramp subsidized as soon as I sat down, but every time I bent down last night, it hurt. I couldn't even sleep on my left side last night, it felt so sore. This morning, I have stomach cramps, but nothing too bad. There is no bleeding. DH seems to think it's because my uterus is expanding with the baby, but he stated we could go to the Dr to ensure everything is okay if we wanted. Our next appointment is for 2 weeks from tomorrow - October 6.

Should I call or just wait it out? This morning I had mild stomach cramps, but they have subsided.

9/22 Update: The pain has now moved to my right side and both my sides are sore. I spoke with my Dr this morning and he wants me to come in this afternoon to have a sonogram and a meeting with him to review what is happening. I'm so nervous now - I just want everything to be okay.

9/23 Update: I saw my Dr last night and they did a vaginal sonogram and right away they saw the culprit. I have a left ovarian cyst that is rather enlarged. The Dr stated I can take tylenol for the pain as needed and that the cyst should start to decrease between 12-14 weeks as the placenta takes over for the baby. But we did get to see the baby and it's so much bigger than it was 3 weeks ago. Plus, we got to hear the heart beat when we met with the Dr and he did an ultrasound (I think that's what it's called) as he checked my stomach and sides for any other possible ailments. DH and I are both relieved, but I would be happier if the pain would just go away. At least it's not constant pain.

cramps in your side and stomach can be normal during pregnancy. I had them ALOT my first pregnancy as my body stretched and such.
This time I had them alot in the early weeks I knew my uterus was stretching because I could feel it!

I also have a big 2.5 yo toddler at home who I lift regularly so I do get pains from that strain at times. I just try to take it easy whenever possible and limit the lifting.

But if you are worried I would call just for piece of mind.

it's probably round ligament pain: your uterus is stretching and growing, and there is a ligament on each side holding it in place. you may have strained it a little bit. just sit and relax today, and if you still feel it tomorrow just as bad call the doc. but i think as long as your not having any bleeding, you're ok

hmm well, my rule of thumb is always that if the pain lasts more than a day, i call

11w is still a bit early for round ligament pain, but your uterus is stretching so that def could be it

Everything will be ok! I'm just shy of 9 weeks and I was doing a pretty deep clean yesterday and moving furniture and I got a really bad left side stitch. It went away last night. The doctor probably just wants to rule out things etc. Think of it as another reason to see the baby.
