Made my appointment with the RE (long)
Well, I finally made the appointment. I was going to begin the testing and Clomid with my OB/Gyn, but another poster reminded me that it would be unmonitored and I’m not sure I’m comfortable with that. I adore my OB/Gyn to pieces and feel like I’m cheating almost, but I have to do what’s best for us.
I decided to go with Dr. Kenigsberg at LIIVF because they are close to my house and seem to have great success rates. They’re rated the #3 IVF clinic in NY for women under 35. I hope it doesn’t come to that point, but it makes me feel more comfortable.
I know it’s a positive step, but I can’t help but feel this overwhelming sadness. We’re not getting PG naturally and it just makes me so sad. I thought this was going to be so easy and I regret waiting as long as we did to start TTC. My appointment isn’t until March 1st so I also feel like another cycle is going to be wasted.
So now we just play the waiting game for a month and see where the appointment takes us…

Re: Made my appointment with the RE (long)
I know how you feel, I was disappointed that I had to see an RE but the truth is that it doesn't matter by what means you have a baby as long as you have a baby. I would've loved to have conceived on my own but I couldn't and we needed a little help. In the end I have a beautiful, amazing little girl so in my eyes the RE was the BEST decision I ever made!! (and nobody ever asks, "How was she conceived" )
Good luck with everything!!

I think most of us can share in your sadness for many reasons. Going to to an RE is a step in the right direction. If you go to the Infertility board the posts on there may help you. They did for me. I also felt very sad and frustrated they helped me see that this may be a journey and there are supporters that are here for you.

Don't feel sad that you can't do it naturally.. I struggled with the whole thing myself (been going to my RE for 4 months now) when we decided to start doing IUI's. But the way i look at it is, the baby will still be ours, and if we needed a little help along the way, so be it. Doesn't take away from it's uniqueness and specialness.

Re: Made my appointment with the RE (long)
I think you are going to love LI IVF. Another poster had recommended this place to me and I am so glad that I went. They are quick with results and answer all my questions (no matter how ridiculous!) I have been working with Dr. Kenigsberg and I really like the way he doesn't make me feel like I'm just business. Good luck to you!

Re: Made my appointment with the RE (long)
Thanks everyone. I know that we will have a beautiful child in our arms one day and it will not matter how that child was conceived. I love the support on these boards!
