Did anyone's baby skip crawling and go straight to walking?

DS has always hated tummy time. He had 2 heart surgeries though so I am sure his chest hurt in the beginning. Chat Icon

Now he LOVES to stand but still hates being on his tummy. We try our hardest to put him on his tummy but he'll just roll over after a few minutes. However, he can now stand on his own while he is playing with his musical table.

Did anyone else's baby just skip crawling and go straight to walking?

Do non-crawling babies walk faster than babies who crawled first?

DS started walking and taking steps around 7 months. Around 8/9 months he started crawling (can't remember exactly). He started full on walking 1 week after his 1st birthday.

Dave's nephew did - i was talking to his sister just last night about it!

Her first boy did - he only 'scooted' on his butt and then started walking - he never crawled!

AJ has always and still hates laying on her stomache (tho she loves sleeping that way)

She crawled around 10m and walked by 11m. So she crawled for only a few weeks before she was up and running.

My DD HATED tummy time. It took her forever to learn how to roll over because of it. Now she is almost 14 months old and has never crawled.........won't even attempt it. She's been walking with assistance for about 2 months now and cruises holding onto things all be herself. So it looks like she's going right to walking. I never crawled either as a baby so I guess she takes after me. Chat Icon

DS learned to walk before he crawled. He was on the later side of normal (16 months). Instead of crawling, he would move around by butt scooting. Then out of the blue one day, he picked up a box of toys and just walked out of the room. DH and I went Chat Icon because we had been trying to get him to walk for so long! The kid ran on his own time table!
