Re: Who is the "Mark Lewis" of Nassau?
please please please do NOT use a tax reduction agency like Mark Lewis - use an attorney who specializes in this type of law. I cannot stress it enough.
If you need an attorney, I can recommend several reputable firms/attorneys who do this type of work.
Do not use a tax reduction agency. They are not attorneys (this is a court proceding no matter what they tell you). An attorney will charge you the same amount - usually 50% of the tax refund and/or tax savings achieved plus the NYS filing fee (which is $30).
You wouldn't use a car salesman if you needed a doctor please use an attorney. It makes a difference - truly.

You can also file a tax grievance yourself. My BIL does it every two years.

Yes you can - it's an easy form to fill out. It does require some legwork on your part but if you don't want to pay someone to do it, you can do it yourself.

I did it myself last year and got denied Meanwhile my taxes are higher than everyone on my block and 1 house on my block turned their house into a mcmansion and their taxes are still lower. It doesnt make sense. I am getting screwed to the wall.

Really? So many people have used Mark Lewis with wonderful results. My parents have been using him for years.
What is the benefit of using an attorney over a tax reduction agency like Mark Lewis?

Re: Who is the "Mark Lewis" of Nassau?
I am moving to Huntington in January so I went on their website and they have a easy (looks like) form to grieve your taxes (it was filled out to show you how to do it). If that is all Mark Lewis is doing why can't you do it yourself?
