when it comes to O-ing, I am so lost

I promised myself that I wouldn't start again with the OPKs (as I have a habit of obsessing over them) but I think I'm going to have to because I just can't figure out when I'm O-ing. Like right now I'm on CD 17 and still have yet to experience any EWCM (it got 'wetter', but not as 'thick' as it's supposed to be). And I'm on a very basic 28 day cycle, so I assume that I "should" be Oing on CD 14.

So if I do get some OPKs for my next cycle, when should I start testing? CD 10-17? Or should I just buy 2 packs and go much longer with them. What do you girls do? Last time I did them I never got a positive, so I'm not looking forward the stress they may cause me this following month

If you really think the OPKs are just going to cause you stress, I really wouldn't use them.

Have you tried feeling for when you O?..

When I got pregnant, I had just "figured" when I O'd, by adding about 14 days after AF, then BD that entire week

Have you tried using one of the online trackers? The only way to REALLY know if you've ovulated is to track your BBT - your temp will rise AFTER ovulation, so if you track your CM and your temperature, you will know for sure.

If that's too much, try just tracking your CM. FertilityFriend.com has an online tutorial that gives you lots of info about CM and what to look for/what it looks like, etc.

When I was TTC #1 I was temping and by that we determined that I was not Oing every cycle. Then when I used the OPKs the surge would show. Did you try the cheap 20 packs. That's what I used with DD.

It's so confusing sometimes. I would try temping for a little while. But if you have a 28 day cycle, you should be Oing on CD 14 if you are Oing. Good luck!

thanks for your advice. I'm really going to try not to let the OPKs get the best of me. I'm just going to do it this next month and if once again I fail to see results, then I'll just have to assume that they don't work for me.

If that's the case I'll look into temping and some of your other suggestions. Thanks ladies.

if you can invest in the digital Ovulation kit. I tried 2 other ones and I tell you that maybe I am blind but I didnt see any double lines so I was winging it. THe digital on for 3 of my friends identified what days were the best and they now have growing families.. Try not to stress about it. You can try BD every other day and that should work too. GOOD LUCK

Buy a big pack & go for it.

I missed my O-date the only time I used the digital tests...I really like the lines (but the digital requires zero thinking to interpret & the 1st month you will make yourself crazy between which line is darker & which isn't until you get a clear positive).
