did you dress professionally for your closing?
Random question, I know...but i was just wondering, is it okay if i wear jeans at closing....or should i be wearing something like dress pants. I just remember hearing someone say once that they dressed nice for their closing.
What did you wear??
btw...i'm not trying to be vain...i just want to be taken seriously at closing. I've been told many a time that i look very young, although should it really matter at this point?? we are handing over the cash, lol

I don't think it matters. I was dressed for "work" since I went straight from work to my closing. I was glad I was dressed decent because it was in a professional building at a law firm. The seller, on the other hand, showed up in jeans and t-shirt. Wear something comfortable.

I think I wore my work clothes, but it doesn't really matter what you wear. You'll never see those people again anyway!

Our "first" closing was during a snow storm so I was in jeans, snow boots, and a nice sweater.
When we finally closed the next day I went right from work, so I was in work clothes.
It really doesn't matter though!!

wear:
yoga pants, flip flops, tank top, bring a sweatshirt (the office will be cold), hair in a pony... no make up either!!!
you got the dough girl... who cares what the person is wearing that is paying??
PS - you may never be the buyer ever again!!! do it in comfort!!

I dressed comfortably. As long as all of your checks are dressed to impress, nobody cares what the person signing the checks is wearing....

Our closing was yesterday and my REA said wow you guys dressed so nice for your closing...some people just come in Sweats...
DH and I were both at work before we went to closing....I just felt more comfortable wearing dress "casual" clothes...
Our Agent and the sellers agent both wore suits....

I just wore black pants and a nice shirt. Not overly dressed up - but not in jeans either. The seller were dressed down, but I expected that from them.
ETA - DH wore khaki pants and a button down shirt

I'm not sure it matters. My DH was dressed very professionally that day, he wore a dark suit. It's easy for him though because that's how he dresses for work. Me, I'm pregnant and have limited clothing now so I wore some nice khakis with a nice button shirt.
The guy selling the house however wore shorts.
I think its more about how you feel and what makes you comfortable. If you are ok wearing jeans even though others may be wearing suits, I say go for it.

Not professional but I looked nice.
For our first home I did business casual since we didn't have kids.
For our second home I was 37 weeks when we closed on the house we sold and I work a really pretty top and jeans (the dressiest pants I owned since I was a PG SAHM ). I put makeup on and did my hair and they took me seriously. I didn't go to the closing on the house that we bought since I was nervous I would go into labor and were moving to NJ and were far from the hospital.

DH and I wore casual clothes. The sellers showed up in jeans and knit shirts. The only people dressing professionally were the attorneys and closer

we both came from work and were dressed business casual- both lawyers commented on how rare it was that anyone bothered to dress up for closings but it seemed like they were impressed that we bothered- even though we really didnt do it intentionally lol

Closing day was also moving day for me...so I was in jeans. Moved out of condo, ran to closings while DH followed the moving truck to the new place so we could move in

I was deathly ill for the closing. Coughing fits, sneezing..etc...I'm sure they were thrilled I showed up!

I wore jeans, nice sandals and a sweater set. DH wore jeans and polo shirt. We were defintiely casual but nice casual. The lawyers, realtor and title guys were all dressed in business casual like, khakis and polos so we didn't feel out of place. It was August too and blazing hot!

We were all in shorts - both us and the sellers.
They were in the middle of moving and DH and I didn't really care.
Both lawyers and our RE agent wore a suit.
