Question about the 6 week PP appt & Stiches ?
Hye everyone! i still have 3 weeks till my 6week PP appt but I already have questions.
* What can i expect at the appt? Will I have an internal?
* Did anyone buy their doctor who delivered their baby a present of some sort?
* If you had an episitomy or tore and got stitched, how long till all of your stitches dissolved? I'm 3 weeks PP and still have stitches, was wondering if this was normal?

I went at 4 weeks PP and they did an internal to make sure everything **shrunk** back to normal. I wasnt due for my annual so no pap.
I had a csection but had a looonnggg labor with a lot of pushing. I didnt have stiches so I am not sure about that.

I had a csection but had a looonnggg labor with a lot of pushing. I didnt have stiches so I am not sure about that.
Thanks Jen! Did you have severe roids from all the pushing? I pushed for 4 hrs and have extremely bad hemroids as well. i was told they'd go "back in" after my 1st BM, but 3 weeks later and my @ss still looks like a cauliflower-is thsi normal?

I had a small one at the end of my pregnancy which I thought would be HUGE after all the pushing etc but to my surprise it was gone by the time I was actually able to "check"

I had a C-section so maybe it's different but I had no internal. I didn't buy my OB a gift. That never crossed my mind actually.
Edit - Now that I think about it..........I think I did have an internal at the 6 week PP visit. I had gone back a few times before my 6 week visit because I had so much swelling so I forgot what the actual 6 week visit was like. Oops!!

Hmmm I had a pap (annual) and she checked my scar (had a "c'); assuming no other complications, you'll also get the all-clear for nookie 
eta: no gift. my ob was a d*ck

It was a quick appointment...They do an internal and feel your stomach to make sure that your uterus is doing what it is supposed to be doing. I didn't get anything for my OB but it did cross my mind. I felt funny and didn't know what to get for him. It is a nice gesture though. I had to get stitches and mine dissolved at around 2 weeks. They also talk to you about what you want to do about birth control. Don't stress it.

I had an internal and pap. We talked about birth control. I did buy him a small present...a bottle of champagne. I brought the dr who actually delivered me a card, but didn't buy him a gift. In retrospect, I would have liked to buy them both a bottle of champagne or wine and a framed photo.
