Come in if you want to hear a spirit/ghost story...
Ok...a little background first.
We live in a house that my mom owns. Its a family home..my great grandparents raised my grandmother and her 2 sisters in this house. Has tons of memories, stories, and history behind it. Tonight while waiting for a pizza to be delivered (my mom and sister were here) we were talking about the house, about missing my grandmother so much. For those of you who don't know, she passed away a little over a year ago.
Anyway..the pizza is delivered..we eat and I go out to the porch for a smoke (I know, I know  ) and I notice on the ledge of the porch that there is something written in the snow.
There, plain as day, in all capital letters, the word
M A R Y
is written. Mary is my grandmothers name. A name that she was always SO proud of. She loved her name. Everyone always knew how much she loved her name.
Now my porch is very private. You have to walk up 7 steps to get to it and where the name was written in the snow is right in front of a window. A window where I had the blinds and curtains open. I also have 2 dogs who bark at EVERYONE who comes up on the porch. I have had the same mailman for years who comes at the same time, and they STILL bark at him each and every day just to paint you a picture. They never barked once. Nothing. Which makes it pretty evident that no one was up there.
I even went as far as to call the pizzeria. We know the people there well and we wanted to ask the delivery guy if maybe he had done it. Nope!!
My mom was in tears while my sister and I tried to give it some logical explanation..but in the end, there is none. Usually I try to deny things like this. It scares me too much. But if this was my grandmother, I am just so happy that she came to us. I know it sounds extraordinary but we have had things happen before in this house. Sounds, strange happenings with lights, water turning on and off by itself. Even my daughter sees someone in the same spot all the time. I took a picture just to document it. I also found a card that my grandmother had given me for my birthday one year...the M and the R are written exactly how she wrote her M and R.
It's been a very strange night to say the least.

That is a great story! Just goes to show that when a loved one passes on they don't leave us forever but visit from time to time.

WOW......what a great story and what a great feeling for your family to know that she was around.
I've seen this happen at a friend's home where doors shut, telephone rings and the cord is unplug from the wall so I don't doubt it at all.
This home must be very special to her......and to all of you....
