Should I be keeing my newborn up more during the day?
My DS is 2weeks 3 days old and I wanted to know if I should be trying to keep him up more during the day so that he sleeps more at night? If so...how???

Mine is 7 weeks old. I don't know any real way to keep her up just yet.

I would let your DS sleep until he wakes up. Just keep the house bright and loud during the day...and wind down at night by lowering lights and noise. Soon they DS will figure out night is for sleeping.
It took my DD a week or two to figure it out.

Not really. Newborns sleep around the clock. They mostly only wake to eat.... I think they are supposed to sleep around 18 hours a day. He will awaken every 3 to 4 hours to eat at night. Try to take turns with your DH.
His sleeping patterns will start to change in about a month.

If you can keep your baby up during the day, i would as much as possible. DD is 6 months old and has her days and nights mixed up BIG TIME! She goes to sleep at like 4-5am and will sleep until 2 or 3. My life is so messed up because of it. I have been trying to change it but its so hard, i guess because shes a lil older now.

Personally I would not wake him, it's important for them to sleep for development. When I first came home with DS it felt like he was sleeping 24 hours a day besides waking to eat, but soon enough you will see he will be up alot more during the day.
