how many poop diapers should a bottlefed newborn have a day?
My son will be 3 weeks this thurs and we just started him on formula last fri (so like 4 days ago), he has only been going number two like 1-2X a day, just wondering if it should be more then that, i am used to breastfeeding where he was going after every feeding. also i am giving him like 3-4 ounces a feeding

I think it's 3 or 4 for soiled diapers and 8 fot wet diapers.

my daughter is on neocate formula and has 1 poop diaper a day and about 6 wet diapers - she is 3 months today.

my dd pees all the time (probably 8-10 wet diapers a day)
As far as BM, sometimes she goes 2x a day, sometimes not at all....

thanks ladies, i just called my dr office and she said that 1-2x a day is fine for the poops

DS is 10wks old. He is AKA "The PeePee Monster"
I think 1x a day is fine for FF baby. DS is FF and he goes 1x every 2-3 days, and Ped is fine w/ that.
FYI: Infant constipation is determined by the CONSISTENCY not the FREQUENCY. I have done lots of research on this. One of the Drs in DS's Ped practice said he wanted him going 2-3x a day so we were messing w/ adding stuff to his formula, and changing his formula. Only made matters worse. We are not back to the "original" formula and he is fine.

My dd is the abnormal one then cause she has at least 3/4 poopy diapers.
Doc states that is FINE esp since she is on Alimentum.

At 3 weeks, we often went a few days between poops. That lasted a few weeks.

Ds has between 1 and 4 a day...average is 2.

In the beginning Emma used to go every single time she ate. Now it's once a day. She didn't go yesterday though, so I did the little thermometer trick today and she went a few minutes later.
