HE washer that calls for HE detergent....what kind of detergent for baby items?
Are we supposed to use different kind of detergent for baby items?
If so, for those of us who have a HE washer what calls for HE detergent, we have limited choices. What do we do?

All Free and Clear makes an HR detergent.

Our pediatrician said it isn't necessary to use special detergents for baby items, she said whatever we use for ourselves is fine.

Everyone I know who has kids says the BIGGEST waste of $$$ was the 'special' baby detergent ........
So, I'm not going to bother

I have used draft or baby all on my sons clothes.. he had very sensitive skin and that is all i could use...
I have a washer that says to use HE detergent but it is not necessary...

I used tide free and clear - my ped said it was just as good as dreft. There is also an ALL free and clear - what you want is something hypoallergenic.

We always use method detergent, will use that to wash the baby clothes too.

All Free and Clear makes an HR detergent.
We use this also! We've used it since before DD was born- so all of her clothes have been washed in it. She's never had a reaction.

if you are NOT using HE detergent - just use LESS OF regular....half a capful of regular stuff is what you use.

I have very sensitive skin so we use All free and clear, no perfumes or dyes and they have an HE formula.
If you are worried about the baby having a sensitivity reaction to the detergent, which is why items like dreft are on teh market I highly recomend switching youre regular detergent over to something like the Free and Clear and doing ALL of your wash with it. All dreft is is a mild detergent with no perfume and chemicals.
Just think the baby will be snuggling on you and his/her skin will be in contact with your clothes as well.
Also, we were told that if we don't use HE detergent in our washer and something happens it voids the warranty, so we didn't want to take the chance.

We're using the All Free and Clear as well. It works out well because it's reasonably priced, too.
