Re: Am I the only one?
Whenever I have a sono, my doctor's office always prints out 3D (and regular) pictures for me and shows me 3D images on the screen. If my doctor's office didn't do this, I doubt I'd go somewhere to get a 3D sono.

Re: Am I the only one?
If it's not covered under my insurance than I will not be getting one. It's not a necessity for me.

We were split on the decision, but decided to do it because I feel like i've been pregnant forever (47 weeks now-with a 2 month break in there) and it will give me a little incentive to make it to 60 weeks being pregnant. Yes, that is more than one whole year.
OMG janine i didn't even think of it that way
oh my God bless you!!

Re: Am I the only one?
I don't. My doc has the machine and flips it on 3D at the end of your level 2 and gives you a couple of pictures. I would not do it electively.

Re: Am I the only one?
I had orignially wanted to have one but when we went for our level 2 the sono tech said she wouldn't recommend it and the the sono waves are stronger so we decided against it. I am still tempted to get a good luck at baby but I guess i will just have to wait 10 more weeks!

Re: Am I the only one?
We had no plans on spending the money for one. Ours was a gift from the sono tech to my daughter - the sono tech thought my daughter would get a kick out of it, turned on that equipment, and told us not to tell anyone she did it.

I have no interest either - my sister got one and her daughter looked like a melting alien. I know I'm wierd but I just find the images creepy.
This is how I feel.

We had one done and it was amazing. The baby did not look like a melting alien or anything. He looked like a little chubby-cheeked cutey and we were just thrilled with the way the pics came out. Yes, it is an extravagant expense, but this is our first child and since we aren't spending money on a babymoon or anything else for ourselves during this pregnancy, we figured, why not. We will probably not do it for our (God willing) second child, but for this one it was a nice novelty.
I agree totally. I thought it was the coolest experience getting to see the baby and he/she was just adorable. We went at 23 weeks and we got the package where we get 2 visits so we're going back at 32 weeks. We can't wait!! I understand that not everyone is interested but I'm just so excited about this being our first baby and I waited so long and went through so much that I really just took advantage of every opportunity to see him/her.

Re: Am I the only one?
I did it just because we really wanted to know what we were having and they weren't sure at the 2 Level IIs I had and they got all the measurements so my drs office wouldn't do another one to find out the gender.

Re: Am I the only one?
For my first, the Drs office did it at no charge. I didn't ask for it. It was cool to see, but I wouldn't pay extra for it. This time around there is a charge, so I skipped it.

Re: Am I the only one?
Not getting one. Not upset about it either. My doc is not a fan of them. He is usually a non-alarmist so that meant something to me.

Re: Am I the only one?
I never did. I saw DD in 3d briefly while I was having ultrasounds, but only for a few seconds.
It was a little weird to me, I didn't want to have a 3d sono done, neight did my DH.
